Can I charge (2) 7.2 volt, 1200 mAh batteries off one charger?

I was wondering if I could charge (2) 7.2 volt, 1200 mAh batteries with a Traxxas battery charger and would it be better to run them in series or parallel?
The charger I have is the wall charger, it came with my 1/16 e revo when I bought it. It's a 2013 model.

NiMH packs must be charged singly. Run them how you want. I'd get a better charger.

If you have a charger that can handle all the cells of two packs together, then it is no problem to charge them in series. If you charge one pack alone, you are still charging the cells in series, thats how the packs are built.
But as the others said, get a good charger

Whether the charger can handle a 12-cell pack or not, it's a very bad idea to charge separate NiMH packs together.

I don't know why most members here don't suggest the Traxxas EZ Peak Dual charger. I can charge two 5800 2s Lipo in less than an hour. It would handle these two without a problem.

Well it's not being suggested because the dual charge adapter is meant for LiPo batteries with balance connectors. Sure you still could connect two NiMH without balance connectors to the adapter but depending on the Delta Peak detection sensitivity of your charger and the charge differential between the two NiMH packs you could end up with an incomplete charge or with a severe overcharge on one pack.

I think you can. Just charge them in serie and it wil be 7.2 volt 2400amps. But yes get a dual charger is the way to go.
So make am adapter to charge in series.
    Plus to plus etc.....
In paralel it would be 14.4 volt 1200amps

In series the voltage doubles and mah stays the same.

In parallel the voltage stays the same and the mah increases.

You have them reversed. So 2 7.2 5000 mah or 2s batteries in series will make 14.4v with 5000 mah

And the same 2 batteries in parallel will still be 7.2v but have 10,000 mah
