    Question Best NI-MH battery?

Hi guys, I'm currently running 2x Traxxas 8.4v 3000mAh and I'm looking to an upgrade - but no Li-Po.
So could you please help me decide between the below NiMh batts (do you know better ones)?

    1 Traxxas 2960 Series 5 NiMH 7-Cell 8.4V 5000mAh Flat Battery - 59.95$ ebay

    2 DURATRAX NiMH 8.4V Onyx 5000mAh Stick TRA Plug DTXC2068 - 61.92$ ebay

    3 DYNAMITE SpeedPK 8.4V 5100mAh Ni-MH 7C Flat TRA DYN1092T - 74.17$ ebay

The price is not a problem, I'm looking for better running time & top speed.
My Summit run on 20T pinion and 62T spur gear with DeWalt motor.

It won't matter what nimh you choose the Dewalt geared like that will be very hard on them.the dewalt is pretty amp hungry and the nimh are just not able to discharge what is demanded fast enough.

    Best NI-MH battery?

Get Lipos!! Why would anyone not get lipos?? It's like choosing to use kerosene lanterns when your house has LED lights - just use them, they are better in EVERY SINGLE WAY! Craziness.
Ahh bugger it - I reckon buy the Dynamite SpeedPK ones - unnecessarily expensive, shorter run times and less punch! Perfect! Buy 4 of them.

I already have 2x Traxxas 7.4v 7600mAh Li-Po and they are not bad but less top speed than 8.4v 3000mAh
So I was looking to get another set of NiMh for better top speed with a longer running time than 3000mAh that I already have.

btw, my summit was upgraded to e-revo body, suspensions and talon tires.

Then you need a MM2/2200 and two 3s batteries to go with the erevo conversion you started

I think MM2/2200 is a little bit too much for the summit's differentials, plus it's a ~400$ upgrade.

Somewhere I have a chart sent by one of the forum members that shows how the two types of batteries discharge. The LIPO batteries discharge at a very high rate for a very long time. The NIMH batteries discharge at or maybe even a little above the same comparable LIPO battery, but for a very short period of time. 2 to 3 minutes at the most. The NIMH batteries continue to discharge at a reduced rate. Where as the Lipos over that same time period are still discharging at a very high rate. You might get a little faster speeds with a fully charged NIMH but it is only going to last for a run or two.

No matter how many mAh the battery have?

I assume a battery with 5000mAh will have a longer time than a 3000mAh one - is this correct ?

Higher mah will result in longer runtimes between charges. You should notice with nimh batteries that the performance of the truck decreases as the battery discharges. With a lipo, you should have the same performance until the esc hits the LVC and stops you from running any longer.

The Traxxas batts are the best quality out of the 3 you listed IMHO.
