    Rear diff grinding

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I recently upgraded my e revo vxl from the plastic driveshafts to the steel cvds. However, after putting everything back together, it appears there is some significant grinding in the rear diff. When I hold the front wheels off the ground and roll on only the back wheels, I hear a grinding sound every revolution or so. I tried adding shims, but that seemed to make the problem worse. Specifically, 1 shim did practically nothing and 2 or 3 shims caused binding. What should I do/what is causing the grinding noise? I am at my wit's end with this problem. Thanks!

Is it really safe to run? There is some resistance as well when it makes the noise. I don't want to overheat motor/esc.

That's a possibility. I am going to tear down the rear end and reassemble again.

It seems like I fixed it. Added two shims on the opposite side and didn't tighten the bulkhead so much this time. Thanks for your help ant12hony!
