My Nitro 4-Tec Pro Restoration Project!

New on my list was My 16 yr old Nitro 4-Tec Pro Restoration Project! Over the years ive swapped numerous parts from a cheap nitro 4-tec roller that i bought, like diffs which were rusted and some carbon fiber which was misplaced but recently found when i moved, the car has been a Frankenstein for a few years but now going back to its original Glory!!!! Bought new: pro diffs, chassis, fuel tank, fuel lines, motor mount, tune pipe, traxxas 2.5/3.3 upgrade kit, hexcrews armor plated screw set, Jun Option 350Z Body, wheels/tires! I got rid of the trinity/picco .12 motor and replaced it with the TRX 2.5 from my T-Maxx (recently upgraded T-Maxx to 3.3). Gave it a complete Parts Bath... Im so happy the way it came it its so beautiful lol anyways thx for viewing enjoy...

The picco was good plenty of top end but not much at the bottom, I can't wait to try out the trx 2.5 this week

What pipe were you running with the picco? I just ordered an AE 7730 torque pipe for the modded Pro .15.
I am going backwards. From 3.3 to 2.5, now is .15.

not sure on what pipe i was running dont remember but its in the pic if u recognize it, that sounds like a good setup but why did u go back to the pro .15?

It feels more like a momentum car with the Pro .15.
For drifting the 2.5R with the Losi carb works great.
I am not into top speed. 3.3 is just out of control.

gotcha ya... yeah ive heard from others that the 3.3 is ridiculous, way to torquey, i wouldnt mind it though lol i want power to the point of shredding tires lol im most likely gona upgrade to a 3.3 after i beat the snot out of this 2.5

You can burn off a set of new tires within two tanks with a stock 3.3. I have soaked the tires in bleach and hoping for a smokey burnt out with no anchor. They would lay rubber but no smoke. Oh well.
I found this foam rolling down the parking lot and thought for sure it came off the rear. As it turned out, it came off the front with the tire came unglued for less than half an inch.

hey man i ran it this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing im so happy with it no complaints... towards the end i started doing some light houses and shredded all 4 tires down to the wheels threw them out after they were useless afterwards lol amazing power i can imagine a 3.3 in there it would be crazy!!!

LOL yeah burnt them down to the wheels threw them out after... Absolutely love the power!!! Light houses are donuts done with all wheel drive cars, bc the car spins in place instead of sliding, i guess they call them light house bc if a WRX sti turns its headlights on at night and does some donuts it looks like a light house light spinning around lol... im gona make a vid soon and post it... thx bro!

Thanks for the bump... its a really nice work of art! As for the 3.3 motor.. Run it in the 4tec and your work of art will not be for too long. stick to the 2.5R or the 15.... The 3.3 has a nasty habit of taking flight at the worst times and that's with the heavier aluminum chassis.

if only the budget for my Pro was higher..... where did you get that lower chassis? The only ones I've found are the ones for sale at traxxas for like $45 and on ebay for $45 or higher. Would like to get one cheaper. Looking forward to your video.

I got mine from eBay for $8.49 + $4 shipping and it even included the Motor Mount and and mount screws... $45 truly is insane, the trick is to look for the chassis or in general for parts that are removed from a new vehicle and sold separately by hobby shops like (Dollar Hobbyz, Liquid RC, Power Hobbies, etc)... So what theyre not in original packaging, theyre still new! Ive looked everywhere and thta is your best bet for saving money
