    Upgrading to Big Block

Hi all, I'm going back to giving my 1/16s some lovin' and I'm looking at getting a big block for an off-road buggy/rat rod I've been dreaming up for a while. I'm looking to keep costs down, so I'm trying to find a balance between performance and price. Has anyone had any experience with the following packages:
Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder SCT System 3800kV
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDRLN&P=ML
Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder WP 4600kV/5700kV/6900kV Systems
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LWG109&P=7
    Graupner GM-Genius Turbo 80R/Race 15.5T Combo
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXERCC&P=7

If anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it (including feedback on the different kV ratings in the 1/16), or any suggestions for possible similar set-ups at a similar price range.

The best options for this are 4600 and 5700 Kv motors. Anything lower will have too much power, therefore extremely over-powering you 1/16 model. The Sidewinder SV2 and the Mamba Max Pro (both made by Castle Creations) are two of the most used ESCs for big-blocking. Paired with a 5700 or 4600 Kv motor, these will really power up your 1/16 model to high speeds.

Thanks CoachSteve! Reading that, and assuming nothing much has changed since 2011, it sounds like one of the Castle Creations 1/10 SV3 Sidewinder WP 4600kV/5700kV/6900kV Systems would be the go. With cost the same between the different systems, what do people use as the deciding fact between the 4600kV & 5700kV motors?

My advice would be as follows:
building an uber light weight (small tire, aerodynamic body street machine) - 5700
building a heavier (aluminum parts, bead lock wheels, larger tires all around basher) - 4600

The SV3 is a great ESC, I upgraded mine this year and the difference is noticeable in throttle smoothness, braking power and less heat. good luck with your project, either way it will be a beast, provided you feed it good quality 2S lipo batteries in parallel )

I have one of those sitting around, wanna put it in a Slash. Would that be to much for it on 2s?
It is going to be a basher and a jumper for my son to run with our 1/10 scales
