    8S speed build *picture heavy*

I've built a few rigs now... But I've always wanted to break 100mph. So this build would be tho one. I started with a slash LCG and 2200Kv and XO1 ESC. Custom fabed an XO1 splitter, undertray, & diffuser. Reinforced the body to resist wind deformation.

The hybrid setup hit 86mph wit XO1 tires. I think it would have went higher but I ran out of road... I got side tracked with it and it grew out of control. The project wasn't going how I wanted so I shelved it for a while...

I decided to revamp it. This time a backslash.

There were some groaning pains tho...

    Next.

    [IMG][/IMG]

Only problem was I couldn't fit my two 3S packs under the body... This set up hit 86mph on 4S with a 2650Kv motor.

My need to hit 100mph was still there...this would be the new layout

    [IMG][/IMG]

    6-8S. 2200kv. XL2. MOD1 gears. 28/34 to start.

    Needed an aerodynamic body...

Body's done. Shoe goo and dry wall tape then fiberglass mat with resin.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    Getting ready for first pass...

    [IMG][/IMG]

First pass was straight and true

    [IMG][/IMG]

    Second pass was even better

Rock solid. No shimmy or wondering. No lift either. There is more left in her too. I didn't use all of the available road. Going to let her stretch her.egs next time out. I still have more gearing to go as well. 130mph or bust.

Nice ride there. I have the same on mine. Motor mount, top brace, waiting on the battery trays. I like the motor mount. You can run tall gearing without cutting chassis.

I hit 82 on 5s with a 2650 kv motor. Any tips for getting more speed? I have all the diffusers although I will admit that my body may be a little aerodynamically challenged. I'm also geared 20/38
This will TOTALLY work, saw a guy on YouTube do it

My thought is more voltage and more gearing. Maybe a 6S for a pass, 2 at the most before you let it cool. The motor is going to be HOT... Your gearing is 20/38 that is a 1.9 ratio, I'm at 28/34 or 1.2 ratio. You could go up in gearing as well... my 2 cents

Are you running the new HR 34 tooth Mod 1?
I have a 36 tooth e revo traxxas right now with a 27 tekno pinion, I know the pinion is hardened steel so matching it to a hardened spur wouldn't be a problem.
At a second look it doesn't say hardened, simply heavy duty steel.
Experience has shown me only hardened against hardened will make it long if at all.

I don't recall what brand gear it is... I've found even a plastic spur held up... Just got to have gear mesh correct.

I agree, in fact prefer a plastic spur, I only ask as I couldn't find a mod 1 34 other then the HR unit.
Right know I'm geared to the point my motor plate isn't sitting deep enough into the chassis slot.
I can weld another piece of aluminum to it but thought a 34 tooth pinion would be just small enough to do the job.

I have all metal pinion spur combos in my high power rigs with no issues... My experence is it OK as long as mesh is OK... The most aggressive gearing I was able to obtain on stock Slash setup was 26/34 with me fileing on motor mount where attaches to chassis on outermost passenger side...
