Thumbs up My 4s LiPo and PureTech strap showed up today. Amazing!!

Wow... Ummm.... I thought this thing was fast on 3s. 4s is totally amazing!!! And the best part is is that I didn't break a thing. My tires are about wasted now though, but I have a brand new set sitting here. I ran it on 15/40 gears. The hottest it got was 142F. Sounds strange, but I actually think it's running cooler now. Maybe it's because of the BAJR body?

Anyways, here are some pictures. Hey Dcuda... that's the medium strap and it's perfect. I think you might have to cut your large one.

    Compared to a 3s 5000mah:

    Just sitting in the truck:

    PureTech medium strap installed:

    After the run:

After the run, lid off. Look... no breakage, LOL:

Sounds fun!! I'm going to do 2 2s in series stacked on top of each other so they're probably a little taller than your single 4s. Either way I'll probably end up trimming my straps some....no biggie. Yours looks great! I might try to make a plate to fit in the tray to hold the Puretech setup so I can take it in and out and still use my extended batt mount if I want.

You got the gears turning in my head with this post... so check this out. This is my 3s. Strap it down with the PureTech, then the extended battery bar just fits right on.

Told you 4s was like a 150 nos shot compared to 3s,lol.
I still throw a 4s in the old 2wd now and then, more when I hear something that doesn't sound quite right.
Usually a 4s pack or two and I know exactly what was wrong as it will break by then.

Now its time to order another 4s so you have one to run while the other one is charging.
I dont see a charging c rating on that lipo, is there one on the side or something, never seen one without.
As a rule I always charge at 1c but most of my lipos have at least a 5c charge rate, I know it takes a bit of life from them but if I get to having to much fun I have been known to do the occasional 15 minute charge now and again.
I've got more in the habit of charging two or more at a time on 1c with a par-board lately.

    Good luck and happy rc-ing.

    Yes it is. LOL

My charger will only do 8 amps max, so I just always charge at that. They never even get warm at this setting. The meter shows about 7.5 amps when charging... so that's like 1.25C or something. Fast enough for me. I also have a para-board and use it when I charge up my 2 3s packs. Also use for my 2650mah 3s cells (x2) that I use in my little boat.

Now its time to order another 4s so you have one to run while the other one is charging.
I might just sell these 3s packs and get another 4s. The cool thing about the 4s is is that you don't have to constantly hammer the throttle just to cruise around at a good speed. The run time was pretty awesome too. I'll time it after I get 4 or 5 cycles on it and compare. I know it's 1500 more mah... but the fact I'm not constantly running WOT makes a big difference too.

I keep rotating them because they are about shot. The right rear takes almost all of the abuse. A few more runs and I'll put the Trenchers on, probably tomorrow morning. I opened up the packages today on the Trenchers and gave them the old Gorilla tape strapping treatment.

I'm going to re-use the same wheels because they are still in great shape. I'm going to try Billy's method with acetone to get the old ones off.

That looks great! I'm not a big fan of the sticky tape idea so I thought I'd try to fab up a plate that would use the batt holdown screws/holes and put the Puretech mount under the plate. That way I could take it out without messing with the sticky crap on the chassis. We'll see...if I get frustrated I'll just stick the Puretech to the bottom of the tray and have at it!...lol

without messing with the sticky crap on the chassis.
Use Parma PSE silicone servo tape and there is no mess, literally no mess.
Once you get a hold of the end it pulls right off.
I've dealt with servo tape thats been a mess to get off and can understand your hesitation.
Try this stuff whether you use it as a battery hold down or not give it a go for your servos, esc's or anything you want to say put, you'll never use the black stuff again.

The best part is while you can stick and go after sitting over night the stuff is like concrete, the only way to get it loose is twist it.

Thanks for the tip billy-bones..I'll keep it in mind. The Puretech batt holdowns come attached to some sticky strip so I'm a little concerned of the mess that may happen should I want to take it out. Not that it's a big deal but I thought maybe I'd try to make it so I could remove it without leaving a sticky mess in the batt tray. If I can't fab something up this week, I'm sticking it in the tray and and giving it a go. The enablers around here have me itching for 4s!! lol

Look on the bright side, now that its dark you have something to do.

PS I tried to answer your acetone question on the 2wd forums.

Sweet. Thanks. I didn't see that am using the tapatalk app.. 2150 seems like a good choice, I have a 1900 and run on 4s. Have you tried buggy tires to see if they hold up better?

    Shredded 3 sets already. LOL

These G-locs held up really well. I just use my truck a lot. I'm just going to do as Billy suggested in another thread and keep running them until they can't be ran any more.

That's the same 4s pack I have, I love it, and you're right, on 4s you don't need to hammer it all the time, I actually limited my throttle to 80% and it's still fast, and the center diff seems to be taking the 4s abuse rather well after 3 packs.

Just a plain Jane traxxas center diff, I got it in a box of parts with some body shells from another member for $5, I was running it just to see if I could melt it down, I stripped my only spur gear on my slipper and it's all I had so I thought I would try it. It's been holding up fine so far. Makes the truck handle pretty darn good.
