Maybe this will be a good candidate for a roll cage. Might be able to handle the weight. I'm generally against them for that reason.

I like the lighting idea. I think the truck looks pretty sweet stock so not much to change there till we see what else aftermarket company's put out.
I agree on the stock look being freaking sweet. The roll cash idea seems legit too. Im so excited about this truck I can't take it lol
LED lights I agree would have been a great addition to the X-Maxx. I am guessing something can be purchased / modded to fit LEDs on it. However, bars, like on the roof - not sure well that'll work. The best LED kits I've seen integrade or attach to the top of a bumper so there there is no hooking it up when you take off/on the body of models.
You can find the LED light kits all day long on Amazon for $11 - 15 shipped so that wouldn't be a problem at all. I have seen a couple of trucks locally with them and they work pretty well with a little bit of planning. Just make sure you buy extra lights because some of the LEDs are bad on arrival.
Why is it that the X-Maxx, a 1/5 scale truck has only one steering servo to move those big tires, when the smaller E-REVO Brushless uses two steering servos?
Is the X-Maxx steering servo super strong so two servos are not needed?
I believe it is a large scale servo of sorts.
I'm thinking the x maxx is 7th scale not quite the size of the 5b's..... I think.....
Why is everybody worried about the scale, it is just a bad*** truck
The X-Maxx has a new Traxxas servo designed to handle the high torque demands of steering the truck.
Torque: 365oz. Speed: 0.17 sec/ 60 degrees(6.0V) #2085

The X-Maxx is in a scale system of its own...MAXX SCALE!![]()
We are all one race. The human race.
Well I just spent the last hour ordering new X-Maxx parts for the LHS I work at. Long story short, we just ordered 2 of every part that's out, and 4 of anything structural or drive line related.I can't wait for this truck. It's huge. It's all new. It's powerful. Ugh. WHY TRAXXAS WHY DID YOU RELEASE IT BEFORE I COLD GET ONE?!?

Live life to the fullest
So glad I got mine preordered. But all of these RC companies are releasing so many cool kits at one time, I'm going to be broke! Between this and Axial's new bomber it's been quite the fall season!
The XO-1 started at $1100. It eventually came down from that. I bought a used XO-1 several months after it first came out for $440 that included a lipo charger and some extra lipos. I crashed it a few times, spent $50 fixing it and sold it all for $650. Had it for about 2 months and hit 85mph. That was good enough for me.

I think the price of the XO-1 went down that much because it was/is a bad seller. Look at the prices from e-revo or slash 4x4 and then make up your mind once again![]()

Platinum Slash isn't too bad.

No sure why this hasn't been posted here yet..... The official Traxxas X-MAXX rain session video:

I love at 0:51 as the suspension pushes the tires out as soon as it gets air going off the lip of the ramp! Nice!!

Looks like the suspension could be a touch stiff. Witch will be sweet for hucking this thing!
Preload, oil, and springs. I'm assuming there will be multiple spring rates available?
Without seeing the truck, I guess I can't know for sure. But I've seen quite a few crawlers or scalers with fixed shock mounts modified with a simple aluminum plate to give adjustments. Might be possible here?

I'm sure some one could figure out some way to add adjustment. Springs are your best bet if you find some that will fit. Pre load clips/collars really only change your ride height not spring stiffness...
I hope the aftermarket companies hit this truck harder than they did the XO-1! After seeing the XMAXX I am already potting to sell my XO and my son agreed to part ways with his slash 4x4 so we can grab one of these beasts! Between my EMAXX and XMAXX winter should be a blast
Reviewed the Traxxas photos of the X-MAXX again. Really noticed the steel and thin axel shafts - such a welcomed move from the stock EREVO thick plastic axels!
Seeing the differences now of the released videos and photos of the X-MAXX, some with and without the roll bars in the X-MAXX truck bed.
The official site gallery does NOT have the roll bars, but some test videos do.

Can anyone confirm if the production truck we've all pre-ordered will have roll bars on the body????
