If that was the case, you could set the receiver up as an x max in the transmitter and get it on other vehicles, no?

I have two slashes that my transmitter tells me are xo-1s. Lol

Still gotta have massive tires I promise. I do with my savage when I'm running 6+in tall tires. It won't work on a slash without going to say 3.8 badlands or similar.

You don't think 5 inch tires on a slash would?

Nope done tried it on 4s with 2.8 swampers not enough weight in the tire. The 3.8 badlands are the smallest I think would do it and they are pushing it on a slash. I broke 3 teknos in a week with 3.8 badlands. That said I've yet to break a savage flux dogbone lol

I never tried to flip a slash back over with the badlands but double backflips were very easy so I suspect they may weigh enough to do it. My savage won't tip back over with em only with the embe tires and mulchers have I got it do it.

I have 2.2g8 swampers and 2.2 ripsaws I run on my slash and telly some that are large.

Would at least probably work on the shorter wheelbase telly. I worry about it tearing up diffs though.

You will likely break diffs or axles if you slipper is tight but on my savage I haven't broke anything but pinnion gear in the diff doing rolling double backflips on hot asphalt lol.

You are correct. Will try that. But as of now I don't see Xmaxx in my link app. Maybe Traxxas would upgrade the app once the Xmaxx is released.

Ok, what's up with the rear bed of the body changing? In the videos it has two black bars on the rear, but the pictures don't show them?...

    X-maxx suspension

Anybody have thoughts or details on the suspension being adjustable to get increased ride height, and ground clearance for amerature rock crawling and climbing over rough stuff?

Or is the X-MAXX only for trails? The video seems to show it can bottom out pretty easy, and mostly easy trail running.

It is no doubt adjustable. But a plush suspension is probably what you want on a vehicle like this.

I have given thought to setting it up to trail like my telly too. It'd go anywhere!

I'm am super excited for this!

I wish they would have used regular 40 series wheels instead of these that, as far as I know, nobody makes this style.

But seeing as it's traxxas the aftermarket will follow!

Thats weird, and its only shown in the highlite bit for the new body mounting system.
Wonder if they are some sort of addon that will be available.

*edit* i lied 1:19 in the video they are shown on the truck while driving too.

Parts list shows a "body support" #7713 with the body stuff.

Curious to see what that is. Might be the bars.

    From the parts list:
    7713 Body support, rear/ 3x15mm CS (2) / 3x15mm flat-head machine (2) (fits X-Maxx) ......... Call
Maybe this is the mysterious rear bars we all noticed appearing and disappearing in the videos.

Anyone else notice the giant heat sink for the motor it comes with? Those shock towers look tough! Hopefully traxxas spent a great amount of time fine tuning the handling of this rig considering they are so confident in not putting out tuning adjustments for the shock towers. This truck really has me excited about getting a new rc!

What kind of battery packs can it take?

    2s pair for 4s?

    3s pair for 6s?

    NiMH packs?

Cool find on the parts views... I like how everything is built, I mean look at the diffs! There's a two bearings inside the diff cups to support the output splines! Talk about tough!

Yes I also really like what I have seen in the exploded views. Only the bumper mounts seem pretty flimsy but time will tell how well they hold up.

Good point. Then again, people were worried that the Slash 4x4 would break in half since it was only held together by 4 screws in the front and rear...

Either way $5 says someone will make better ones anyway.

2s and 3s for sure according to documentation. Will it run on the usual Traxxas 7cell NimH?

To clarify, I'm honestly thinking if you run something this big on NIMH's it would litteraly melt them by the end of the packs. If you're using NIMH's in this truck you've bought the wrong truck, it's like putting a 4 cylinder in a Corvette IMO.

V Ya I've heard them sizzle... It's kinda scary to be honest... *depends on it's size*

Also I would never run this truck on 2x2s. (4s)

4s is what I run in my Backslash 4x4 and Stampede 4x4

At least 6s on this monster and with different electronics I would even prefer 8s.

2x4s 5000mah should fit the battery tray.

I have plently of high mah 2s batteries, from two 7600 mah 50c, to my other two 8200 mah 50c's... I'll try running it on 4s just for kicks, but I'm going to buy some 3s's when I get it too.

I am in agreement. In my experience, it would seem that two 2s packs would be pushing the envelope of the bare minimum. Two 3s packs seems much more reasonable for this X-Maxx beast. I'm sure a two 4s pack set up will be available for it in 2016. Me likey!

I guess on 2x2s it is pretty slow. Stock summit speed probably.

1600 kv also really needs some voltage.

    I run 2400kv on 4s.
