I see you guys want to know every little thing about the truck before it drops lol... I guess I can't blame ya though.

I've already made up my mind that i'll get it and learn everything about it once I have it in my hands.

    Ah.

Took a closer look, this time at the parts sheet instead of online Traxxas parts. Appears to be optional pinions sizes 14,15,16,17,18.

yea lol that's why I can't blame you guys on wanting to know more about it. Traxxas is releasing this at the right time and it will definitely bring in those outsiders once they get a load of this truck.

Heck I've already started buying parts. Already have several 5000mah 3s packs but I ordered a set of 8000mah and I just put an order in for a 11/54 pinion/spur combo. If RPM A-Arms were available, I'd have ordered a set of those too.

I wonder about rpm arms on such a heavy truck. They tend to get a bow in them on even just a slash if you don't store it with no weight on them. And I quite frequently forget to store it otherwise. Haha

Interesting point. So it's best to store the X-MAXX ( and other RCs) with shocks/suspension an a without load o compressed?

Yes, rpm arms are too soft for heavy trucks.. Personally I prefer Traxxas plastic to rpm I had rather break an a arm than watch it flex and break a cvd.

That makes sense to me. I will be using stock arms also. And running completely stock for a while until I get used to the truck.

Can't say I've had any issues with my RPM arms on my e-revo. Been on there for about 7 years now.

I haven't seen issue with RPM arms bowing on my FLM E-maxx which is a fairly heavy truck, but maybe I will take a closer look when I get home. Arms may be one the first things to break on the X-maxx when you clip something with this heavy a truck

I'm thinking the "something" you clip is more likely to break!

I've seen video of that done with a Summit. I'm sure the locking diffs help a ton. Though if I'm ever lucky enough to own an x maxx, it'll have heavy fluid in the diffs.

I should clarify that that was ONE kid. Not two. Haha

Let's see a video of that.

It will be awhile before an X-Maxx will do that due to the way the motor mounts to the chassis.

do i really need to record it? stock brushed motor on 4s, don't have to lock the diffs but it helps.

i'm sure the xmaxx will be able to pull quite a lot of weight too, just need to gear down.

There are a lot of Vids out there showing a summit pulling something.

Y'all might be able to save a looooot of money by picking up a telluride, or building one up like you'd like. Unless you just want bigger. The telluride makes a great trail truck when set up right. And can go faster too if you wish. Cause it's a couple turns of a hex driver away from being a stampede. The platform is so tough, and it seems the ground clearance vs overall size is better on it than the x maxx appears.

Thanks but I want bigger size, better ground clearance, a better all round truck, easier to work on, I've been over this before haha.

The X-MAXX fits the bill here, hands down.

For trailing still hands down on the Summit

I will out perform the X-Maxx with the locking diffs and low gear.

Locking diffs is the one thing I wish they'd have incorporated into the x-maxx

Meh. Just putty em and go!

My telluride has brushed pede diffs, geared low, a sensored brushless motor, slash arms with zero offset beadlocks, putty in the diffs, the massive g8 swampers, and a little weight in the nose. It does some mild crawling and trailing very well.

And the design is very similar to the x maxx, so maybe it can do it too. But, what I've learned is that when crawling stuff, bigger is not always better. My telly will go a lot of places my summit - ish revo will not, because it fits better. And another problem I wonder about is gearing the x maxx low enough. With either the telly or the summit you can go very low. 1st gear in the summit, or brushed diffs in the telly. There won't be a different ring and pinion combo for the x maxx.

Looking at the studio photos again of the X-MAXX, I see the A-Arm area is much cleaner, appears less complex, a more pleasing design then EREVO I used to have, At least for me.

Yes, IMO the design like the slash, pede, telly, and the x maxx will have is simpler and easier to work on.

    Cool.

I also like the design of the a-arms having all square lines, vs the EREVO and summit curved sections in their arms.

Notice the difference on preload on springs front vs back. More preload on the back from factory maybe? Is this common?

Yes. More weight on the back needs more preload and it also reduces the sagging under acceleration.

Awesome - thanks for that! I don't think the EREVO is much bigger, so this is a good size comparison photo from above we haven't see before.
