The E-Maxx is not that big. Summit is much Bigger.

Well the Xmaxx is still 9" longer and about 3" wider than the summit too. Oddly only a couple inches taller tho. Gives a great idea of just how much the summit gets jacked up with the LT rockers and tall body shell.

Unlike all versions and sizes of the E-Revos, Revos, T-Maxx, E-Maxx, and Summits, and some other models, The X-MAXX design is, I think, the most pro looking, and I just realized another reason why that is... The wheels are not extending out beyond the length of the body and bumpers.

I wouldn't necessarily call that a good thing. That just means you'll hit a larger object and come to a dead stop vs potentially being able to crawl over it. Case in point, there is a irrigation ditch out in the large dirt field where I bash in, in my revo I can go down and crawl back up it, had the wheels not extended past the front pumper, it would have just smacked the bottom on the way down and got stuck there. Now this particular ditch is small enough that the x-maxx large tires and ground clearance will likely still be able to negotiate it, but if it was a bit larger, it wouldn't be able to with this design.

Good point, wonder and guess we'll find out how this works on trails too.

We clearly need more videos of the X-MAXX doing its thing.

Looking at the front bumper expending beyond the tires a little, wouldn't it have to be a pretty steep incline for the tires not the crawl up?

Also was looking at the esc and fan in this photo, wondering if it has to be removed when running in wet conditions? The EREVO had a removable esc fan to be taken off per instruction manual prior to wet condition runs. Same with the X-Maxx esc?

I wouldn't worry about it. I leave the fans on my mamba monsters and my mamba max. If they quit I'll just replace them then.

Irrigation gutters have steep inclines. I sometimes flip over in my erevo when going up them. And that front pumper is entirely out in front of the front tires, not just a little beyond them.

Personally I prefer when the front and rear tires line up with the bumpers.

I actually remove the bumper from my mini revo sometimes when I'm playing in the woods. The front tires touch first as you approach something and the little bugger goes anywhere.

I too have removed RC bumpers for clearance when I'm trailing about. The X-Maxx bumpers look like a pretty easy disconnect.

The inclines would have to be pretty steep for the X-MAXX to have a hard time starting on it. Although the points above are good work-arounds for those very steep ones!

I fear that you imagine the X Maxx has no limitations because it's very big. Haha

No, just that I'm not a hardcore RC guy like most here. I just don't think I run as hard or as fast is all.

Check 5:10 in this video that Off Road Hawk dug up.

Check 12:17 to compare size of erevo, summit and X-MAXX

This is a great running and up close video! But it's in German.

Glad I'm not the only one. It looks lethargic. Should be a blast in some serious offroad bashing places though.

With its soft suspension, rather slow speed, huge seize and massive weight this truck is really only good for extremely rough terrain. Anything else doesnt make sense to me.

Same here. It looks to be a terrible jumper. Can't wait until someone gets their hands on it and tunes the suspension some.

You just can't judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. Haha

But still, it's a platform. A fresh, clean canvas much like other traxxas vehicles. I'm sure shocks and things will come and it can be tuned to anybody's liking.

Looks a bit sluggish even on 6s. I guess i'm not fully understanding that this truck is literally 20lbs lol 8s might be the formula for this truck im thinking-given the diffs are up to the task. I'll just use my current 3s 5000mah packs now and judge for myself though when I get it.

Which is why I have an 8S setup on it's way. You'll know I'm ripping this truck apart when I list the stock X-Maxx motor/esc on the Market Place. Then some one can install the X-Maxx setup in another Traxxas truck

I think the jumping has more to do with the driver than the truck. I say this because I suck at jumping and that's how my jumps look with any RC if I'm behind the wheel.

But yeah, this video is exactly why I didn't sell my brushless E-Revo to buy the X-Maxx. Completely different trucks with completely different characteristics both great fun when used for what they're good at.

haha didn't even think about this.

Traxxas will probably come out with a bigger bottle of shock oil that holds more oil.

Other videos that were posted the driver was doing much higher speeds, in particular the vid in a parking lot when it was raining.

You know what they say about books and covers.

I expect thoughts will change once we get to be the driver, but should keep in mind this is a Maxx, not a speed racing revo. Just my 2 cents.

Yes we know, no need to defend/make excuses or feel the need to put things in perspective for the X-Maxx with every post. Take it easy, relax, it's just a toy. All that matters is that you like it when you get it.

Anyone notice the tire profile from that video? Big difference from the inside and the outside. looks like a bigger version of the slash 2.2/3.0
