    1/5? Or no?

Is the X-maxx 1/5 scale? Specs says it has 24mm hubs which is classified as 1/5 in the R/C world. Or am I just crazy?

It's probably 1/5 but Traxxas is known to call most of their cars 1/10 scale. Summit, E-maxx, Rustler, Stampede, Revo, Traxxas considers all of those 1/10 scale and they will probably call the X-Maxx 1/10 scale too.

Beautiful woman walks (or Beautiful car drives) down the road.
Some people try to quantify the beauty.
Others do not bother to attempt to rate it, they just enjoy the sight.

Except for classifying it for racing, which is not the purpose of this vehicle, what is the point of knowing the "scale" since we already know the dimensions?

@ bonewrench: that's a very silly last line.

no it's not a true 5th scale cuz what would we scale it off of and the overall size of it is much smaller that some true 5th scale cars on the market ?

this truck is really cool and nothing like it out there

I will be placing my order soon as they show up at Tower

FYI .. I have 24mm hubs on my MGT to run Baja 5T tires on it and it's still 8th scale

Technically it's a 1/5. But it doesn't matter to me as long as the aftermarket supplies new things for it, and as long as I enjoy mine.

While the Xmaxx is only 2" Longer than an XO1 it is almost 2 times as wide lol. 21.26" Wide vs 11.8" for the XO1.
Xmaxx wheels themselves are taller than the XO1 as well.

I cant wait to actually see this truck in person. So huge.

Unless its ment to be a "true scale model" they just wing it on sizes. Summit and stampeed both 1/10. A 10th scale slash "car" body is way bigger than a stampeed monster truck. Just look at the measurements

Yea im a noob and was very confused that the short course slash was the same "scale" as my stampede. Maybe the scale refers to somthing other then the general dementions

1:10 SCs are pretty big for their scale more like 1:8th buggies.

    E-Revo equals 1:8th Truggy Scale.

    E-Maxx I would also classify 1:8th scale.

    X-Maxx is 1:5th scale I would say.

ever see the Losi R8 ?
that is a true 6th scale car
did you know that the wheelbase of that car is 18.8", and almost the same as the XMaxx ?
the XMaxx is a truck that has a greater wheelbase vs a car
and this truck is kinda like the Ford Raptor pickup that has a wheelbase of 133" for the small cab and not 163" for the full size cab.
take that measurement by the XMaxx and your come up with 7.03 scale

so more like a true 7th Scale tuck

any idea what the specs are for the REAL Bigfoot monster truck ????

Yup but if you campare a stampede 4x4 to a slash 4x4 which both are 1:10th then you could say that a x-maxx would match a losi 5t.

Basically the idea behind is that SCs are bigger than MT in the same scale. hope you get it

    No not really at all
the 10th scale short course trucks are 10th of the real thing
the FiveT is 5th scale of the real truck and has a wheelbase of 24" and the XMaxx is only 18.92" so it's not even close to that, and 18.92" is the same within 1/8th inch of the R8 and that is a 6th scale car, based on the real car
so in reality the wheelbase of this truck in relation to a real monster truck puts in just under 7th scale because of the real wheelbase of a real full scale monster truck of about 135-140"

Thus is getting silly. Not all full sized trucks are the same size so there is no way for these model to be an exact scale. .
