new to rc and truck wont start

I got me old e-maxx out after about 3 years of it just sitting and I charged the batteries that where in the box and plugged them in to the truck, but after about 5 seconds of it running it just died, I don't know if it's a battery problem, a charger problem or something wrong with the truck. Please help!

After batteries sit for a little while, they need to be cycled a few times. Charge them and then plug them in and try them about 4 or 5 times, and you should be good to go.

I like to discharge them at a reduced rate for those first few cycles. This usually means half throttle passes up and down the street until the batteries are about halfway discharged.
