I was also looking at those. Wondering if the wire is long enough?
I've tried kits like that in the past. They are typically not waterproof, and they pop out of the body if it flexes, or at least mine did.

Another option if you want to use a 3rd channel to turn them on or off. Requires 3 position switch for this version "Dual Power Headlight and Driving Light Controller". This is the one I got were you can do 6 volts to one set of LED's and 12 volts to another.

Wolf, where did you get the 3S female connector end for your light setup?

Ok guys, here's some pictures of what it looks like at night. I couldn't be happier with how the front lights came out, they look great, and they work great too. The rear ones are ok, but I'm going to re do them correctly. Sorry if any pictures are blurry, my camera really doesn't like darkness.
With just the Summit LED's on:
This picture shows how off the rear ones are.
With the LED light bar on in a completely dark room:

Looking good wolf. I made an offer to the guy on ebay for the light bar and he counter-offered $35 shipped. It's better than paying $50
We are all one race. The human race.
Really nice rear bumper light
-Blue X-maxx
-E-Maxx 60.2mph
-Spartan 48.2mph
that looks really nice. traxxas should have set us up like this from the factory.
thanks to everyone on this thread and Wolfslash16 i ordered your parts recommendations.
i have got to stay off these forums before i spend as much on accessories as i did the XMAXX![]()
How did you wire the light to the batteries? Do u connect to both batteries simultaneously? I'm really desperate to know because I am thinking of doing exactly what you did and yours seems to be perfect! ( any additional picture or a little explanation would help me a lot) Thanks!
I searched on eBay and I found some. Just type in "3s lipo connectors" and you will get several offers to choose from.
Made a mistake and ordered a 4" LED light bar and it wouldn't fit in the bumper. Until my new light bar comes in I decided to install it inside. I know I didn't want to install it on the outside of the body since I crash a lot. I do have the Shoe Goo and mesh inside the body but the light still shines through. This is a temporary install so we'll see if it holds up to the jumps. I also ordered the wrong size battery so everything kinda worked out.
My Plug blocks the bar but it didn't seem to affect the lighting.
I think it looks very cool especially since we play a lot at night.

That light bar is nothing really special as I have one too. After looking at it, it's the housing is what you are paying for. The lights itself is just the normal SMD LEDs light strip that you can buy off of Ebay or Amazon for $10 for 15ft. Just buy the waterproof ones and make your own housing if you want to save money.
Can you please provide a little more details on this Headlight??
Namely:
1. How did you connect it to get power? Was it plug n play into the receiver?
2. Where did you get it?
3. Where their any brackets with the light?
4. Any mods needed to mount it to the front bumper?
thanks!

@Blkdrgn808 i wonder why i didn't think it that way. brilliant! back to the drawing board -->
oh. i provide more pictures of this as soon as it dries up a little. i'm also thinking of modifying it to be a whole lot more brighter. and i tried to tell where i bought it but this forum censored it. light bar came with mounting brackets and front bumper did need a little cutting to make this fit. also it takes power straight from receiver
I would love to do this.... But honestly I have every intention to wreck this thing and putting anything nice on the front is basically signing it's death or burning cash
Haha, Very true^^
Here's the ones I've been making.

They are zip tied and sticky tack to the truck and bumper. It runs in a 3s balance plug. No need for extra Lipo if you are running 3s with a balance plug. They are brighter than the LEDs that plug into the Rx because they are running on 12v instead of 6v.
I can't figure out how to post pics?
