Tried to drive it in over 12"+ of snow . I think that might be too deep as it didn't go to far, lol. Guess it'll be sitting on the shelf for a few days till the temps can melt some of it.

Added some bling to my 8S V2 while waiting on my new spur & pinions to arrive along with a roll cage so I can change up the body style a bit.

Cant wait to scratch up all this nice aluminum

I hooked up with Rebel Concepts and got a clear body and some hardware. RC Pit Stop supplied the colors.

I wondered what the truck would handle like on pavement without body roll so I maxed the preload on the springs and used zip ties to lower it....a lot. It was a lot of fun. I was drifting with all four tires firmly on the road. I need to try again tomorrow when the sun is out. It took off like crazy, but wouldn't pull a wheelie. Not sure if it was just getting the power to the road better or the road was a little slick. It's only 20 degrees. Definitely need to find a more permanent setup like this when I gear up for speed. This is my first RC since the late 90s and then I was running HPI/Losi/Associated racing kits. I like simplicity, but the lack of adjustment options is just strange to me.

    Ran some on 8s 24/46 - max6 - 8s wheels
wheelie all the way across the yard - sky wheelies >no wheelie bar
overheated again - way fun, gettin' it there
so went to change to the 18t pinion ,and the 26t pinion is stuck good on there
grub/set screw stripped - red locktite works
so grabbed the 4 inch grinder, had it off quick
after a break ,will see if it still overheats

Well I added a led light bar that I got off of Amazon for $6 per pair and added a tailgate protector to my OG body as well as trimming some beat up lexan away. Last weekend I replaced the lower rear bulkhead and skidplates due to abuse from rocks and replaced the bearings while I had it apart. I also installed longer screws and lock nuts on the ends for the bolts that hold the bumpers on as I always seem to be pulling them out. I also had to repair my murat led rear light since it broke off the bumper on my last run.

I posted about that light bar months ago and was surprised that you're the first one I've seen get it. It's killer huh? I have one on all three of mine. I like the way you secured it!

Yeah for $7 I had to try them. I finally got it mounted up yesterday and I like them. Drilling thru the heatsink was pretty simple and results in a clean install. It is like these were made for the X-maxx.

Beautiful day in UK today, unusual as it is!!
Charged up the hi-power 4S batteries, then took it to the local park.
Dog walkers were quite amused - no problems - plenty of room.

WOW - this is powerful, fast and those tyres so grippy - wheelies anywhere and any speed!!
Flipped it onto its roof, then braked onto its wheels - some collateral damage - no shelf queen anymore!! Never mind.

8S is too much for it - need to weigh down the front - a LOT!
Heat - XL2 and X524 - very mildly warm after 5 minutes' blasting up and down, trying to open up the throttle.

    Looking Good atom

So ...I ran an old 5b baja at the foxtail track today, before 4dub showed up.
It cut down the growing foxtails some.
Also ran 3 sets of lipo -2 sets 6s -1 set 8s, in the Xmaxx
The foxtails got in and stopped the cooling fan on the max6,on the 3 run
got back to the shop ,Cleaned and lubed -charged ,then tested the max6 fan
-ran for another 20min ,in yard
then cleaned the baja / tested
    Another Good Day...
    Get Out there and PLAY

I went to a local bash spot I found by my house and found some guys playing with 1/16 traxxas trucks. lol. The spot isn't that big, but there's a nice mound that my truck has flattened into a nice jump and a 20 foot tall dirt pile. They saw me jumping and climbing the pile and started doing the same. I'm so impressed with how far the hobby has come since I've been gone. Their trucks were doing a ton of stuff I thought only my xmaxx would be able to do. I hope I didn't break their egos. I think one of them might be about to empty their bank account again.

Today I made up my own body savers.

I used the shock 3hole diaphragm plastic spacer for the traxxas ultra shocks shaved them down to fit in the seats where the screw would normally go than I shaved down 4 dimes drilled a hole threw them mounted everything up .

And no for some reason I did not have any washers laying around my apartment and I didn't want to wait till Monday to get some from my shop.

Decided to test out the power of the XMAXX. I was surprised. With just a tow strap it pulled my daughter uphill and down hill. On pavement as well as through the grass and dirt / gravel. My daughter had more fun than me. Not fair!

The daily running of the Xmaxx
has now broken it's first, over a year old,
    right rear bearing carrier -
same as upper arm breakage ,a month ago.
amazing how much torture this RC can take
    before a part wears out
    back together, ready for more
you know how we do it.

Charged up the batteries and took it to the local park - wheelie bar is helping, but still had a tumble - body off job but no damage.
It REALLY moves, and after 10 minutes' blasting up and down nearly the full length of the smallish park, the motor was warmish, ESC less so. Motor I would guess at perhaps ~45C.

Took the 'X' for a blast. Still had to go easy on the throttle to keep the wheels down, then managed to open it up to near full throttle - this is fast!!

Still, had a tumble and lost it's roof - body - but not damaged.
    Needs the centre diff.

Well, story goes I was going to check the settings Castle had left the 'repaired' XL2 I'm running in the X-Maxx - it was one I had lying around, and is 100% spot on ....
Family's out for the day, so I brought it into a paper-covered living room - so I could continue in comfort.
Lifting up the front and pulling it along, there was a funny 'cogging' noise (no power involved here), AND the fronts weren't turning much!!

Strange thinks I - looks like it's an hour with the world's least user friendly for servicing MT - sorry guys but I don't find the X-Maxx that easy to work on!!

    Photos:
    In pieces!!

More detail - can you see anything?:

Spiral gears are 100% bob on - no problems!!

    More of the same:

    Problem?
This is what it SHOULD look like!!

Now by TOTAL COINCIDENCE, my X-Maxx is ready for me to install the centre diff once I receive it - what a coincidence!!
NEVER liked plastic gears on 8hp motors!
    X524 rated at 6300W at 190A - XL2 can throw out over 200A continuously - perfect!!

Bought X-Maxx #4, a red Snap-On version (I have a sickness). Adding it to black Snap-On, blue 6S w/8S upgrade, and blue 8S. I also bought a new lid from SkinJobs, a Proline Raptor black with Candy blue flames that is supposed to be here today.

Bought my first X-Maxx in November and have spent 99% of my time upgrading/modifying. Sad to report that I have less than 6 hours total use on all of them (well, 3 have never seen dirt). I'll post pics of the new body, hope it looks as good in person as it did online.

Bought a couple of extra bodies too, one I'm going to try to airbrush with a new setup that I bought and another that I'm going to try and hydro-dip. So far I still enjoy working on them more than anything else. Hoping warmer weather will change my mind. Going to designate one as a basher, one for bling/show, and just look at the Snap-On ones. Probably will wait until they thin out on fleabay and then sell the Snap-On ones. They are too purdy to scratch up!

As CrazyXMAXX always says, I need to get out and play!
