What did you do with your X-Maxx today?

Had a little fun over the weekend & had my first breakdown lol. Some how the lower Rear A-arm pin that holds the tire knuckle on worked it way out past the screw that supposed to hold it on, causing it too come apart on a luckily small jump. nothing appeared broken or cracked and it was a quick fix yay ..... is it common for for the pins to work there way out ?

The blue one got a broken hand when misslanding a backflip, but The orange one just got tired of looking at The little vorza playing around.

ordered a set of R & L arms, lower and uppers.

My left lower rear a-arm has been broken for 2 or 3 months now, but the break didn't really effect the driving or jumps ect.

Will replace the arm before it has a catastrophic accident.

installed rpm arms and the Cen hinge pin mod.. Finally i can play for longer than 2 mins without losing a hinge pin lol

I just rebuilt my xmaxx. Both front and rear diffs. I shimmed them both. And it is still clicking under hard braking. 2 of my shocks are stuck and broken. What is a good upgrade option.

Are your drive cups and driveshafts in good shape ? Did you check also ball bearings ?

Just replaced all the ball bearings. Driveshafts and cups are good. I figured out what was wrong. The slipper was way too tight so when I hit the brakes the diff cover would flex and allow it to jump a tooth. I loosened it up. Soon I will get aluminum covers and they should help.

What is the slipper ref please? And are you runinng 6s or 8s ? I am asking because I have also issues with differentials...

I am running 6s with a super high discharge rate. I was running the slipper supper tight so all of the impact when I stopped went to the diffs. And I don't have the 8s center diff to take some of the impact.

I can't find a part number for the slipper clutch. If you take off the cover behind the motor you'll see you pinion and spur the slipper clutch is connected to the really big gear. The center differential is 7796. The center differential is only on an 8s truck.

Hit a tree going bout 20-25 ripped the axle, bearings, cup and all right thru the carrier on the rear. Shocks, a-arms look good, just the carrier is broken lol.

You see the two holes on that carrier? Put super glue on the seam,(careful not to glue where the bearing seat)then use a steel wires through those two hole, and twist the wires to tightening it. It could work depend on the breakage. See if it works for you. I did that with mine, and it held up ROCK SOLID til my RPM oversize carrier arrive. Anyways, it is just something you can try doing without a spare on hand. I could have keep using that broken carrier, but I ordered the RPM before I got this steel wiring idea, and it just worked. I wonder if that is what those two hole is for.

PS: I have some steel wires stiches done on my xmaxx on bumper, and even chassis. It could work for anybody, but that depending on the breakage. And super glue will not hold on 99% repair alone. And that stock carrier you broke cost less than 5 bucks.

I sold my X-Maxx. It was getting a bit tired, and it was still a 6s with the original ESC. I've saving up for a new 8s green 'Maxx so I won't be out for long.

According to forerunner 201, max speed 28 mph, distance 3,72 miles and running time ~28 min... and the battery wat not totally empty ...

BTW , I heard the differential have issue (it's not my first issue with front diff ...)...

if its an 8s, you shouldn't have an issue. I run the 8s diffs in my maxx, if its a modded 6s, thats a different story

mines been sitting on the shelf for a few months. havent bought new batteries and charger for it. want 8s for sure, i cant solder to save my life lol. the speed control has xt-150 would like adapters made so i can use traxxas connectors. any thoughts? also the closest hobbyshop is 150 miles from me now the local one closed up shop
