What did you do with your X-Maxx today?

Went to the local bmx track and battered my truck.
Lost the roof protector and the body looks hammered, but it left there still driving!
Needs a clean and check over, but I couldn't smile wide enough.

Installed the Promodler servo horn on my Savox 2290sg. I want to say they sent me a hat, mask, and coozie free. I bought the Savox prior to knowing about Promodler, what a top notch outfit. I’ll be upgrading servos one of these days. The 930 will make its way into X-Maxx.
Fit and finish are top notch as expected.

Set the ramp up on the yard at home.
Hit it a bit hard.
Broke my wife's favourite plant pot.

Ran my Xmaxx with the light kit installed for the first time. No brakes or reverse and 1 random shutoff after 15 min.

It's troubleshooting time again.

On a bright note (pun intended) the lights are nice and bright and have good throw. Considering that it's dark by 4:30 here, It'll be nice to be able to drive whenever I want.

Like a little kid on Christmas day my motor finally arrived, I opened the box before i could get inside the door haha. I started prepping, and fabbing immediately.
- Fabbed a low profile esc mount from 14 gauge 316 staino. **Slots are for servo wire/esc/temp all neatly tucked inside old rx spot, and will go up into new reciever box
- Mocked/mounted Max 5, and ghetto amazon receiver box it fits nicely though.
- chassis brace modded

Looks great. I Deleted the stock RX box to get it lower. Gotta get that motor straight so you don’t stress the connections on the Max5.

Yeah I just threw it on there for measuring, I gotta rotate the motor end plate and clock it as it it didn't work out perfectly outta the box with the mount i got.

Thanks, this is the Surpass hobby Rocket 780kv motor, yeah it does look similar to the hobbywing, it was half the cost of the 800kv HW so im gonna give it a shot.

I had that one on order also, but it never showed up . A guy on youtube Dr. Xmaxx i believe says to upgrade the bearings down the road in the rocket motors, but everything else about the motor is great.

Running it from a HobbyWing Max5 @ 7.4v

Can’t test properly until lockdown has finished here in the UK.

And your running stock receiver? I’d love to know if receiver burns out or not.

I currently run same setup, but bypass with a castle BEC to savox servo. Keeping receiver input voltage around 6.4

I’d like to bypass the mess of the bec and power straight from ESC at 7.4 V.

Please let me know how it turns out.

By the way is that a promo modler servo horn? Didn’t know they made one that could fit on a 25T Savox. If you have links please provide.

No word yet from LT-Xmaxx on who makes that motor mount pictured in Reply-1968. Rats, I'd really like to know.

I think you were asking me about the mount but asked Juan instead haha! Its from aliexpress, and should come up easy when you search xmaxx motor mount. Some quick pros and cons. It's cheap 46$cad including shipping depends on current sales works with my new surpass hobby motor, nice fit and finish, no cutting of the chassis. Cons are it's not one piece, had to use special 243 loctite to bond the included stainless screws to the anodizing of the mount, top brace to chassis rails requires some filling on the battery holder mount to sit flush, and a extended screw.
