Went to the dunes on the coast with my buddy in his sxs. Ran the xmaxx on the dunes while he drove.
Found a over heating motor due to motor fan plugged with sand. Car took a swim and survived when jumped over a dune blind and was a water hole at bottom. It survived thankful.
Almost made it up the biggest dune, then battery went into lvc stage 1
Vid I took till phone storage full.

Today I have replacedall screws on the xmaxx by stainless steel ones. I always try to keep everything spotless. I also replaced all bearings by water- and dustproof rubber shielded ones. Nice work to get to know the xmaxx. I do have to say that the engineering is very well thought over.
Very nice rc car to work on.
Have had a Leopard 1340kv motor
for over 4 years ,sitting new in the box
Finally mounted it in my original Xmaxx
Blown stock 8s tires are bound to happen now
Satisfied with the 1600kv 6s motor for nearly 5 years
The more power has made the old toy amazing again
New hobby wing 1100kv motor is in the 8s Xmaxx now
RC happiness again and again

I took the Xmaxx out on my street with my big ramp and got some ridiculous jumps and photos!
I haven’t torn it down but I think I broke my steering cover thingy(I forgot the name), and the front upper-bulkhead piece, and cracked my center skid plate. Don’t matter though, the fun I had is totally worth the damage!

So today I did a update on my Xmaxx had for 7 months now no problems whatsoever.first run after update truck shuts off on first run I bring it back to me and esc will only turn on when I hold power button and I get critical error code has anyone experienced anything like this
started changing the bearings on the diff's to stainless and when i took the screw holding the drive cup on, the cup fell apart so apparently it was broke from the last time i ran the truck and the screw was the only thing holding it together. so here i sit waiting for parts.
For next time:

Greasing the rear upgrade RPM hub larger bearings, made a video of it!

finally got to put 4 new drive cups on with sleeves along with stainless bearings for the diff's
Played at the local public track. Stock Spur gear failed. And have binding in the drive train so hopefully just some teeth where it shouldn't be. And top brace broke cuz I forgot to put the screws in the sides.
Took some hard hits.
Rustler broke a rear tie rod.
Merv and erevo2 popped out the pillow ball in the front hub
So lots of maintenance to get done now.

How is the center spool working for you so far? My front diff and center diff are totally stock, but i’m running the Hot racing rear spool for a locked rear axle, and I love it. I am finally running stock wheels and tires, and I see my front tires slightly ballooning on speed runs. This truck is a wheelie beast. I can literally ride wheelies across the front yard. And I feel like the ballooning stock tires aids in the balance of a wheelie for longer periods of time.
Wasn’t willing to continue rebuilding the stock 8s center diff
after a couple episodes of having the expando front tires blues
Over 3 years of using the center spool weekly - haven’t had any issues
Disliked the juice gone- no air traction -balloon effect

I am tempted to go ahead and install them in the stock Xmaxx shock
bodies, and just use them.
But, I’ve already ordered Pro-Line Xmaxx shock bodies too. But they’re on backorder still through Towerhobbies. So I may just wait.
Amazing shock lowers though! HUGE SHAFTS! Pictures just can’t give them
justice. They are literally pencil shafts.
Hey, these Proline shock lowers are amazing man, just figured i’d let you know!! I ran the front so far on my stock Xmaxx bodies. I’m amazed! I haven’t driven the truck yet, but just by feel they are butter smooth. The main thing that’s wayyy better than the stock shocks, Is how well sealed they are. The stock xmaxx shock is a dirt magnet, and they’re pretty leaky too. The stock shocks use a single o ring, with a shaft wiper design. You could always feel substantial oil on the stock xmaxx shaft. Well on these proline shafts, they use (2) fat o rings that are squeezed between two large delrin sleeves. The tension can be adjusted to squeeze the o-rings tighter or looser. which directly affects how smooth the shaft will flow. Although, there’s always zero play in the shaft and cartridge, and zero play between the shaft and shock body. ‘It doesn’t move at all’ Absolutely no oil on the shaft either after compressing these proline shocks. The o-rings totally wipe the shaft dry, and keep all oil totally off the shaft, and inside the shock body! I’m very happy with the proline lower shocks. I’d recommend disassembling all of them first just to make sure they are all assembled equally. “The tension on the lower shock cartridge can affect rebound”
I had them up to my ear and upon compression, not a single sound is heard. This was after they were full of oil, and fully bled with no springs installed yet. Silky smooth! And they just destroy the stock shock.
PS, my stock Xmaxx shocks were freshly rebuilt. And they still showed signs up oil seeping out underneath the rubber wipe. I dunno why? This is a dirt magnet, and kind of annoying too.
Glad to see these are built super well!

Nice to hear, I am in agreement with everything you said about stock shocks. They are definitely not a bad shock but my biggest issue is that I bend them all the time from big jumps.
From what you said I’m totally going to purchase a set. Seems like they work with stock bodies no problem right?
