    Tmaxx Build with Picco .28

Just a pic of my recent Tmaxx Build. Looks so good I may just keep it as a shelf queen

What tires are those?? Is that engine a direct bolt on? What u need to get it to work on a 4907 maxx? More power than a trx 3.3? Can the stock grey tranny handle this engine or needs metal gears?

It's a direct fit with the OFNA mid block motor mount. The JL Max .28 is called a mid block because it's got big block displacement and a small block exhaust port, witch is why it fits on a stock Tmaxx chassis because a big block exhaust doesn't fit between the engine and shock tower. Even the small block header has to hav crazy bends in it to work. It blew my mind when Traxxas extended the chassis on the Tmaxx and they did it in the front of the truck instead of the rear. If they extended the rear ther would be many more engine options including big block. The only way to run true big block is to find a big block chassis (extended in rear). The JL is a very potent mill though.

    Looks great man!
I'm definitely going with this motor setup once I go blow through a few 3.3 I have.
    Those 17mm hex wheels?

Can a gray tranny hold up to the power? How about the driveshafts?

Have not ran it, so I can not give an honest opinion of transmission. From viewing other posts, I've seen where other have installed Robinson Racing steel gears. I'm going to try the gray tranny stock gears with F.O.C. first and replace if necessary. I have installed 17mm hex adapters to accommodate the Axial Yeti XL tires. The chassis is an extended version (4908) I believe.
I have the Picco .26 in my Revo an absolutely love it. Crazy power throughout the entire band paired with a THS exhaust.
Still have a few more shiny parts to add but almost there. Had enough parts left over that I built a "Beater" maxx also.

I really dig those tires they just look great. I think the bumpers are proline right? With over three times the hp it's going to go like a stabbed rat.
Ps don't leave it on the shelf, my Revo has been on the shelf for 6 months and now I have to wait another 4 months to use it again, it's agony I tell yah.

I've been running the JL for a year now, plastic drives and axles don't last very long but no trouble with black tranny so far. Easier to tune than 3.3 and makes my Sportmaxx dance.

Bumpers are possibly Pro-line, eh? I'll look into that, i really like the way they look.

"...like a stabbed rat" don't think I've ever heard that one, it sure made me giggle.

Looks like the header barely fit😊 wish I woulda known about this a year ago when I started my bb build, ended up finding a acncm mega chassis, then took another 2-3 months to find engine mounts.... After a few months of hunting down parts I managed to get my Lrp to fit.... I now run a ue thunder chassis while the acncm hangs on the wall.... Nice build though

The tires are off of my Yeti Xl, Put on 17mm hex to accommodate them. The bumpers are proline with working lights. Just trying to figure out how to turn them on / off with 3rd channel on transmitter

Finally have it finished over 1,100.00 invested . Every part is aftermarket. Went with RPM arms just so there would be a "flex" point if something were to go wrong. Very pleased with the outcome

    Looks sweet !!!!

Love the build, don't love the air filter... IT didn't flow well enough for the 2.5 yet alone a thirsty and demanding .28

Change the filter and you will unleash the beast... I'll put dollar to dime, you put a more updated 2 stage filter with better flow you will need to richen your settings from the old filter due to more air flow into the engine through the carb.

More air needs more fuel = more power. You prbably already know this, it's just a point... I think it looks great, nice and beefy!!!!!

    Enjoy

Here's the quick cheap way.... There are others that support more lights as well. http://www.amainhobbies.com/rc-cars-...i24257/p151670

    Operates off the 3rd channel.

Never used lights before so i'm in the dark (lol pun). Is the 2A switched output going to be used to power the lights directly? What is the 5A output going to be used for? Receiver?

The front and rear of the truck have the same amount of preload on the springs?

I've seen this truck for sale on eBay and I think one other place. Nice truck mate!! Love the power plant setup!! I'm debating turning my Tmaxx 3.3 I to a Picco power planted animal. Hard to come by these Picco engines nowadays.
