    Journey of my X-Maxx..

    Hi all! Being an engineer I don't like to write too much unnecessary stuff so i'll get right into it.

    After constantly pestering the local Hobby shops about when this bad boy would com in and they kept telling me that they hope it will be here in a couple days, I decided to look here. I can't remember (maybe here) I read that Traxxas didn't send many to the west coast. I saw that some people typed "X-Maxx" on facebook at many hobby shops were posting their inventory. I decided to look on facebook and found a couple hobby shops that still had them. I contacted them and one eventually agreed to ship it all the way here! (From Florida to Washington State). It took about a week to get here

    I'm on the east coast, and it happened to me. For me though, I just had to go to the next town to get mine.

    Lucky you. I tried all the towns that are near me. They either didn't get them in or stopped taking pre-orders because they were not getting them in when they were supposed to.

    Did anyone cut their body to let air flow yet? I was thinking about cutting the body where the two "hood scoops" are to let air in? I don't really want to do a fan because I like to ride in wet conditions.

    I was thinking of doing this but was worried about to much water intake when running in the rain or even just wet conditions, I was thinking about even making some kind of tunnel or something to blow right on the motor and esc but again directing water with the air won't work for me. Keep us updated if you do it

    I did some of the mods from the X-Maxx section. 4 Washers on the body (3mm or #6), thermal paste with a zip tie, and changed the pinion to mod 1 17 tooth. And two duratrax batteries. Still didn't do the shoe goo and drywall tape, but i have it.

    Do the washers you selected seat into the hole or are they above the hole?

    I went to harbor freight the other day for some things and picked up an aluminum box with the tear away foam squares. I decided to buy it to use it for my rc controller, charger, and batteries... i may put some tools in there also.
