Just got my aluminum shock caps and lowers from flea bay. Anybody else noticed the caps have no weep hole? 2nd question should I drill a weep hole in my new cap to match the factory cap?![]()

Interesting... is th weep hole needed or are we looking at busting seals and (lower) caps if no weep hole?
And would it be a problem with certain wt oil?
What did the flea bay seller say?
I just ordered the bottoms to go with the tops & bodies.
Have not raised the question to the seller as yet.

drilling a hole in the Probably would not be a problem but I don't see a problem with no hole either since you can bleed the shock by just leaving the cap a little loose

I've been thinking about drilling holes in mine. I'm waiting on my order of 50wt shock fluid to come in and then I'll do that and put the new shock covers on.

Im thinking No it is not needed as you can do the final bleed with a loose cap. But I could be wrong as I don't have the experience level that many others have on this forum.

Yes, that is the case. The bleeder hole is a convenience. But by keeping the cap a little loose to bleed off air and excess oil is the typical solution. Then a final tightening and cleanup.
Over time air will still get in, that's why the hole is there
