I was running a separate battery but now I run off of the jst. Fpv has been awesome!
Fly it like you stole it!
What is the trick to unplugging the bluetooth module? The connector doesn't seem to want to come out of the socket. Are there release clips or something?
anybody else out there with a FPV setup they would be willing to share?
Has anybody mounted a screen to their controller? If so please share a picture
thanks!
Hello,
If you search for "connex" in this forum, you will find a thread on my experiments with FPV. I've since moved that FPV equipment to my Tricopter, but it was interesting to try it out on the Aton first.

Here's what I did. Little involved but still a work in progress. Openings are for cooling bc transmitter got to hot.

Here's my controller setup. It doesn't record but this is my first attempt at fpv. So far it works just great and for everything including the transmitter in under 100 bucks.

Nice work !
northern Vermont
Mounting the vtx and the wires under the hood on top of all of the Atons electronics, doesnt this cause interference?...seems like it would?
looks nice!
An alternative to dedicated fpv goggles is to use a gear vr (2016/usb C version) or google cardboard. You need a vrx with av output, uvc video grabber (or easycap), usb otg cable and an app (most include a dvr feature too). It's higher latency then fpv goggles of course, but much cheaper than a decent pair, and of course you can use them for 3d apps/gaming.
What's the name of the board where the sd card go? Please can someone help me
My broke I need

I don't believe it's available as a part to buy. You probably need to ring/email traxxas and ask. Please let us know the outcome (in a new thread).
Traxxas will replace either of the boards for $20 each
SUPER CLEAN ATON FPV INSTALL COMING SOON!!!!
STAY TUNED....

So I'm thinking 200mw VTX and a 900TVL CMOS camera, sound good?
Has anyone gotten a HAM technician license or are we in agreement that it's not needed for 5.8ghz?
There are 2 pins on the front of the connector on the ECS board side, lift the connector from the back supporting the whole thing and rock it towards the ECS board and it will pull straight out, the same applies for all the other connectors on the other boards.

Super Clean FPV install update... I'm also moding the ATON transmitter with a signal booster by powering it off the 4AAA batteries and making it removable with a right angle DC power plug for anyone that is interested.
i'll post some pics tonight, not allowed to have my phone on me or take pictures at work, secret squirrel stuff and crap lol... the 26AWG wire I ordered will be here today too so tonight i'll wire everthing up tonight and take step by step pictures, I brought my TX with me to work to test the circuit board, so I'm going to power the signal booster off of the power switch so its not on the whole time.

Thank you. Any links to recreating a setup like his?
You're gonna have to splice some wires because there isn't a plug and play setup out there for the ATON'S mavlink and audropilot telemetry, but I've included a picture of the connectors you need to hook up to on the Flight Control board... and I'd get a 200mw video transmitter just because its a happy medium and the 600mw vtx's just get super hot...

so what kind of range does that modified transmitter give you?
