Motor Testing Steps?

Does anyone know of any steps that can be taken to find out if the motor has more resistance to turning than it should? I have rebuilt my stunt Aton, but am at the step of installing the used motors. I would like to run a test on the motors to make sure there is not an unnecessary resistance in them that will cause the ESC and batteries to work harder than they need to.
