    Hot Racing 540/550 Motor Mount

Anybody tried this on their cars?

    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFHSB&P=7

I was working on mine last night after leaving it sit around for too long and remembered that I actually managed to bend the motor mount plate just enough to be annoying a few years back (no joke!) and since I'm wreching on it to get it ready for vacation road trip this summer I figure it's time to do a few mods while I'm at it and am interested in this one as both a repair part and an upgrade.

If you want to mount the Vxl-3m motor on it then it will not work. This motor mount is only for tenth scale brushless or brushed.
It looks like a high quality piece tho
Too much power is just enough

I know it's for a 1/10 motor, the car started as a normal brushed Fiesta and had a 1/10 Velineon system in it for a few years and currently is holding a SV1/4600kV combo. I think the extra weight of the Velineon 3500 motor is how I bent that plate, took a good whack into something a bit solid that stopped it rather suddenly, although I think the motor tried to keep going It does look nice, that's why I was looking at it, but can't seem to find anything obvious on here or via Google about it.

It is a good option for the 1/10th scale upgrade, the tenbol and the stock traxxas stuff are the other 2 options.... Neither really seem to be better than the others

I figured might as well go to something nicer looking so long as it didn't hurt things any.

Well, here it is all mounted up.

Oh, and here's how I mounted the ESC so I could easily pull it off and move the motor.

2s, when I was still running a 1/10 Velineon/VXL combo in it, it was so powerful on a Thunder Power 1800mAh 45c 2s that I could barely keep it pointed in a straight line, the less torquey 4600 Castle seems to be better, especially when combined with the center diff and the Traxxas 2200mAh 25 pack. Sadly, ever since I got it bought that battery, converted to this plate, and put 500k in the center diff, I haven't had the chance to drive it

I got traxxas TSM on mine and it drives straight like buddah.

you think the center diff makes a big difference? traxxas p/n 7014, right?

Without the TSM, Yes, a whole lot, it also drove straighter on dirt with the Velineon too. I could get it to accelerate on a slick floor in a straight line without any squirm at all.
