Thumbs up what are some good gear ratios for larger 17mm wheels?

Got some larger off road tires that are 5.5 inches in diameter. What are some good gear combos? 2wd Stampede vxl

I was running 21/86 on my sw3 4600. On 3s. Just watch your temps..... gear ration is a matter of personal preference

Keep that motor below 170F and you're good. Good to keep the ESC under that too, but it does have it's own thermal protection that shuts down when temps get too high.

Thanks. I've had it shut down before from over gearing.

Try 19/86 gearing first and work your way up for more speed if preferred and find out what the motor/esc likes. Most importantly, GRAB A TEMP GUAGE!

Just follow the tire marks and broken parts.

Those are some big tires I would start with the stock xl5 gearing then go up but keep the temps LOW.

I'm going to start with 15/86 and go up from there. Have a dual motor fan and ESC fan.
