    Hey Shark!

    before/after

I love my 2wd, here are my mods:

Traxxas Low Center of Gravity Chassis
Traxxas Ultra Shocks Front & Rear
    Traxxas Velineon ESC Fan
Integy Motor Heat Sink & Fan
Genuine JVP2015 Products VXL Dual Fan wire harness
    RPM Caster Blocks
Proline Trenchers on the rear (bought premounts)
Panther Tires t865p - Sand Paddles
1 Inch Squares of 3mil Rubber x4 - one on each body posts (goes under body) - reduces body noise, and body shake.
2s 5800 traxxas id powercell lipo

Advise I seen a lot of people give is, upgrade the rear tires (you don't "really" need high grip tires on the front) and replace stuff as you break it. I upgraded most of the stuff when I crashed my truck and broke most of the truck, including the high center of gravity (stock) chassis, which is why I went with the LCG.

Enjoy your stay here! lots of good info to be learned here

If you are stripping your spur gear, you are not setting your mesh correctly, or you do not have the pinion aligned correct. In any case, it is kind of rude to hijack someone else's thread.

Here is my Slash, have a modification or two...

Before you go throwing parts and money at your truck, recommend thinking about what you want it to do better, then work towards that goal. One thing people overlook are their shocks, they immediately what new ones, but do not take any time to try to tune what they have. Ultrashocks are not the greatest, but they are really not that bad either, and are very tunable. The worst thing about them are the plastic shock caps, which will pop off when jumps. So, recommend getting a set of aluminum caps, and while you have the shocks open, putting in 40wt shock oil. Then play around with reload and see what it does for you.
