    Fusible Link question.

So I went ahead and registered my X-Maxx today after hearing about the fusible link in the sticky by NitroChicken. My question is, does Traxxas ship the fusible link automatically after registering? or do I call to confirm or some way

    Good question.

I wonder, are there spare fusible links available if the wire link is used as per design - disconnects and fails by design to protect the system in over heat/ t high power draw? Or what do owners do if this actually happens?
(didn't mean to divert from your question, but a valid question on same topic maybe?).

I sure hope so. Can a Traxxas employee confirm this?

I wonder what gearing it would take to blow the new link or how many amps it would take?

    That's a good question!

If you are running non-Traxxas connectors I would try and verify this with Traxxas.

Received my second fusible link today. I suppose this is because I initially registered my vehicle back in December. And also followed the process for the link when the Voluntary Recall was announced.

The fusible link will not care what type of connector it has on it. It is a fuse that will break if the amperage is too great.

It is made to click into a Traxxas Connector, is it not?

If you're using different connectors, chances are you all ready know how to solder. So that would be a minor problem.

There is nothing about conectors that would keep the link from working

If the link blows look into replacing the esc, it should never blow the link.
