How do I get OBA working with non-traxxas radio?

I'm stumped, I've searched all over and haven't found anything good yet.

I decided to add OBA to my brand new 4x4 Platinum, just want to try it for the heck of it.

I've got 2s battery voltage going to the sound module, it comes on and the green light blinks always
I've got the throttle channel in-line and throttle still works properly. I plugged the green plug into my ch3 (also tried with it unplugged), which has a momentary switch on the radio, when I hit that switch, it interrupts throttle control
When I hold down the power button on the OBA module, it doesn't seem to do anything, just still blinking green.
I've turned the volume up

I cannot ever get audio to come out.

I'm using a radio system I got from h-king.

Unfortunately there seems to be very little resource for this system. Help!

My guess is something is wrong with the OBA or a connection.
I took one from my lhs and connected it to my Castle system w/ Spectrum radio by using jumpers and it worked. I was only experimenting and never actually installed it.

Good to know, thanks! I've got to figure out why mine just blinks like there's no connection. I tried 2 different sound modules with same result.

Make sure you have the plugs right on the receiver.

Sorry to bring up and old thread but was curious if you ever got this figured out? was thinking of buying some OBA trucks but we run futaba gear so would want to hook them up to R204GFE receivers for example.

There are other oba systems available from different companies, but the traxxas system only works with traxxas radios

Correct, u can change esc but you need TQi radio and transmitter.
