    Lightbulb Axle Boots?

Has anyone experimented with 1/5 scale axle boots for their XMAXX?

I've used dry lube (Blaster PTFE, and some bicycle chain dry lube), but it seems to only lube the parts properly for 3-4 runs. I've also thrown grease in there, which works but gets contaminated and must be replaced in a similar amount of time. I've happily made axle maintenance a weekly thing, but am thinking or trying something like:

    What do you think?

I was thinking of trying pillow ball covers for a maxx or revo. I don't have a xmaxx in hand yet. But i got the pillow ball covers handy.

I used FG boots on the diff side. But only tested on one run (45min.) so far no problems. They're not perfect, because the last 'bulge' goes above the cup, but I already had them. The Hostile boots look like they would fit better.

Edit you post and remove the URL tags around the IMG tags. That should work.

Thanks for the pic, this looks pretty clean! I'm curious to see how it will hold up over time, keep us posted.

Some people use Tapatalk on Mobile, I used to dislike it and haven't used it in years.

Easiest way I know, if you want to post more than 1, is to open up a (free) PhotoBucket account. You can upload your pics there and they will provide the code to copy-and-paste into forums. Magic!

Alternatively, you'll have to upload your photos somewhere. This can be DropBox, Google Drive, Google Photos, Apple iSomethingSomething, Tumblr, whatever. Most forums don't provide hosting for files, it's too bad but that's how it is. You need to host your image file somewhere on the web and then link to it using IMG tags.

Where did you get your rims that would fit Trenchers and would also still fit the Xmaxx's setup?

They are a little less half an inch shorter than the stock wheels. So a 1/4" less ground clearance
