I have a 2WD Stampede XL-5
I have approx 6 to 7 min run time on my old original batteries 8.4V 3000 nimh
Original run time was 10 to 15 min
I assumed the battery was getting tired so I picked up a new one 8.4V 3000 nimh
With the new one I am getting 8 to 10 minutes run time ( on gravel )
I checked the voltage at the start 9.4 V and after the stampede stopped running ( dead ) 8.5 V
Why is the Stampede dead when the battery is at 8.5 V ? Motor was at 120 ° F
The low voltage is set for Nimh
I thought HIMH cells were OK until 1 V 7V with my 7C hump pack
Thanks in advance for Any Help of info
Fred..
What color is the light on your esc with a fresh battery ?
Just checked it with my Stampede , it does flash green really quick before turning red for nimh packs ...

Perhaps its your ESC or even your radio.

The ESC doesn´t use LVC while in NIMH mode.
What does the ESC LED show when your Stampede is "dead"?
Note that measuring the battery Voltage after the run without load will not correspond to the voltage it had while running your Stampede under load. Under load the battery voltage will be much lower due to its internal resistance, the higher the load the more the voltage drop ( Ohms law ) and the battery voltage will bounce back once the load is removed.

I recharged one of my DEAD 7C 3000 packs at .5C
15 min after charging the pack was at 10.1 V and the charger put through 2500 mah over 80 %
And another 8 min run time
Constant, slow or fast flashing red LED?
so normal power on non LVC mode.
Changed anything lately that could increase the load (gearing, tires,...) ?
If you haven't already, check your gear mesh since too tight of a gear mesh can sap lots of power. Also check for bearing and other friction issues on the motor and down the driveline.
Maybe try, if you have not already, when it stops, go through the motions of changing the battery, but do not. Unplug the battery, wait the normal amount of time it would take you to swap in another battery, then plug the battery back in and test it.

MOTOR
Yes the old 12 T titan was sucking a lot of juice.
after previous runs the motor was not hot 120 ° F so I assumed it was OK
but the battery was a little on the warm side
I got a 14 min hard run this morning with a new 12 T Titan and 3000 Mimh Pack
Thanks you every one for the the help
