    Banned Product List

Is there an 'official' banned product list posted somewhere?

I know there are specific companies/brands that rip off Traxxas designs, those are of course banned, but there are other products that are banned for various reasons. Of course, it does not matter the reason, if the Traxxas/mods do not want them on the site, they should not be here, but it would be nice to have a list to check against before posting up.

Many thanks to ksb51rl for removing the thread, I apologize for not knowing it was banned.

    Scott.

Banned names will be removed by the language filter and replaced with a "*" so you'll need to go back and edit it out. The brands pretty much come from the banned Hong Kong site so if you avoid using those names you should be good.

I just posted a link to a video and did not put the model name or brand in the header or the body of the thread. So, I did not give the filter a chance to work for me...

I have also asked for a banned list with no luck. It would be very nice to know what we CANNOT mention on the forums.

Having a list of banned brands would be a little counterproductive. The brands are banned to prevent them from being promoted here. Mentioning the brands in a list would draw attention to them and would be a form of advertising for the banned brands.

Or detour them from going to that name brand. There is obviously a reason THEY are banned and more people I think would stay away from such. It would just help us not get in trouble with the "man".

Generally speaking, people don't get in trouble for mentioning/discussing the banned brands. Most of the time, posts are edited or sometimes deleted. Warning points are rarely issued for discussing banned products.

The easiest way to tell if a brand you want to discuss had been banned is to type the name in a post and hit the "Go Advanced" button. If you see a starred out word in your post preview, then you've mentioned a banned brand; otherwise, you should be good to go.

Nobody is looking to burn a member for not knowing a product is banned, even if it should have been clear from simply viewing the forum that the product was not permitted. It takes repeated infractions or an overt act by the member (like purposely bypassing the language filter) to earn points. If a member refuses to take "no" for an answer, either from the automated filter program or from one of the moderating team members, well that's just not wise.

I like straight facts. I googled and found the brand name that is banned.

I had never heard of them, or their products. As I see the product is a copy, I feel the brand name pain , and have no problem with the ban.

It took me time that I didn't need to waste to get the facts. Was this other company legally tackled by Traxxas ? Post those facts and give us your side
