    Hobbywing max6 step by step guide

    Apologies if this has already been asked but has anyone done a step by step guide on installing the max6 on an xmaxx or a YouTube video on the installation? Want to get one but want To be confident in installing it. Thanks in advance

    Do you mean physically installing it or binding the esc?

    It's fairly easy,remove stock esc replace it with max6 use double sided tape,then plug the max6 esc onto the receiver where the stock esc is plug in,then plug in your motor wires into the max6 esc,viola your done,but u still need to Calibirate trx to max6 esc and then program the max6 to your liking,much easier if u purchase the program card with it.

    Mind having a go. Just
    Like to be a bit confident in doing it. Will it fit

    Thanks buddy. Will stick with stock motor for now. Sorry to hijack this post but was also thinking of putting in a thicker oil in my shocks. Want it a bit stiffer. Any suggestions? Was thinking 60wt front and rear?
    Thanks again

    Its your thread...you can hijack it anytime

    but imo I think 60wt is too thick. that thick would be ideal for strictly huge jumps/landings though.

    Lol. Very true. Shouldn't have gone off subject. Just trying to gain insight into everyone's experience and expertise on here.
    Not sure what oil to choose. Just feel my maxx is to spongey and needs stiffening up a little. Any idea how
    Much each shock holds?

    Max5=5th scale
    Max6=6th scale
    Max8=8th scale

    It will fit but...You'll be pushing the envelope with that 8th scale ESC in the X-maxx

    Helps reduce wheelie a bit but not much though
    Even with the rear raise higher than front,trucks still back flips on its back.

    Max6 very easy for me to program with sound an lights Methods. All you need to do is lighten up on brakes an maxx out the punch. And you won't burn yourself a second time. He he!

    I didn't see anyone mention it, but you also have to soldier the connectors on it for your batteries.

    Yep! ordered the traxxas connectors for under $4 from RCboyz on ebay and took the esc to my LHS where they only charge me $5 every time I need a connector soldered
