    Diff gear change?

    Hey guys, just bought a new ring and pinion gear and I noticed a few slight differences. First off, the "new" ring gear has a beveled edge on it, and later after I took pictures I noticed the grooves on the ring top (not teeth but like reverse teeth) weren't as deep.




    You may also notice the bevel on the end of the pinion gear's shaft. There is also a "3" pressed into the bottom of the gear.




    Are these new designs from Traxxas, possibly to create a better diff (less need of shimming?) or simply a cast fail?

    Dont mind all of the clutter from my completely taken apart E-revo, .

    If they improved the E-revo diffs I'm sure it was an accident.

    Yeah, I think I will contact Traxxas, maybe the mods will update us here.

    I have that new style ring and pinion in my embe. Maybe they are different partnrs? Mine are
    TRX5379X. Still needs shimming in my case.
