Rocks and stuff getting caught between the motor and center shaft

Oh man I missed driving this thing. So durable and ridiculously fast!!! (4068 2650kv motor on 4s...hehehehe). a buddy and i were bashing on an empty dirt lot today and rocks kept getting lodged between the driveshaft and motor. it happened so often that it rounded out the slipper adjustment nut...doh!!!!!!

look at my center shaft! its ground down

has anyone figure out a way to shield, or cover this area?

Some people use a tube of some type and mount it over the center driveshaft and out the hole in the front. so any rocks or whatever that gets in sits on a non moving part.

+1 for the mesh. Keeps the worst stuff out while still allowing air to flow (adds a few degrees to motor/esc temp, but not nearly as much as e.g. a JConcepts hard cover)

thanks guys! ill try that out. i was worried about doing a chassis cover because the motor/esc might get too hot but sounds like it works for you guys.
