Cannot get 6mm shim to fit on differential output gear shaft

All the threads I've read say to use a 6mm shim on the output gear shaft. I cannot get it to fit, tried to force it will no luck. Is there a trick to it?

I had the same problem With the output gear shaft on the locking side on the diff. Get 7mm shims for that side. Use the 6mm everywhere else.
If it still moves, it aint broke enough!

Thanks for the reply, I bent the heck out of the 6mm trying to get it on, there is no way that is the correct size. Like you said 7mm is the way to go.

also can confirm that 6mm shims do not fit the output gear shaft on locking side. it has major wobble coming out my l.e.m diff cups and confused why. none seems to know anything about this.
