Question reguarding transmission on my slayer pro

Good morning, I picked up a slayer pro from a guy who said it hasn't even had a full tank. I tore it down to the chassis to replace the fluids and strip the anodizing. I came to the transmission and noticed there were 4 little washers in between the transmission and the chassis. The guy also hacked the chassis with a grinder for clearance. My question is What the purpose of shimming the transmission up? Is there an alignment issue with this truck? Should I put them back in when I reassemble?

I'm not a noob, just new to the slayer pro. Thanks

No alignment issue. Some have been known to do that when installing a big block into the truck so that there is clearance between the engine and transmission. If you are using a 2.5/3.3 or similar sized engine no need to put the washers in there.
