My X-Maxx Project

Bought a used X-Maxx with Leopard 5892-1340kv engine and a Hbbywing max 5 esc. Fit a T-Bone front bumper. Run on 29/54 gering and 2x3 cell 5000mAh lipo. Think that it goes well with this, the engine was a little warm but drive hard hard. Got to be a fan when I returned home, think that the steering gear is sloppy. Can you tighten the servosaver or is there something else to do. Run with Traxxas standard servo. Some pictures of this.

You might wanna get a bigger fan,also yes I believe there's a adjustment for servo saver,,and I would recommend getting a better batteries,,I have the same setup but geared 35/46,all steel gears even output gear,I'm using 3s 8400mah & SMC 4s 5200mah.

Should have a 50x50 fan but had only 40x40 home today. Do you have any good site to buy 50x50 rc fan?

they should have some on eBay,I'm using 60x60 fan,u can also get the dynamite 1/5scale dual fans from KD

the stock servo has a better torque than both of those @6v,definitely not the first one.
If u can get either one of this it's much better and it will work with the adapter,but if you are to replace stock servo,you won't be able to use the stock servo horn also,you will need a different servo horn.i believe you will need the Futuba 25t servo horn.

No I don't have the cover on ever since I switch motor,but you can modify it if u want it on,someone here posted it on how to. I'll try to find the thread and get back to u..here u go

Isn't there an adapter available that will allow use of the stock horn? i saw a link on here somewhere, I think it was to a-main. Or is that an adapter that is only for the bluebird servo?
What is the spline count on the stock servo?

havent seen or known anyone that have use an adapter to use the stock servo horn with aftermarket servo.

Run with ordinary washer that I bought a local hardware store, recessed them a little with a standard drill and painted them black, the screw was Countersunk hex screws ca3x18mm,

i changed the esc to hobbywing max 5 and stays with the original engine.
does your leopard fit perfectly ? or you had to change / cut somthing ?
i will very glad if u can post a pictureof the vehicle

You don't have to cut anything for leopard motor,u just meet to get the motor mount from KD.

Hello, you need to remove a crossbar in 7714 otherwise it is just to purchase KD motor mount. Have no great photos of it there is a fan right over now.
Have only one showing the crossbar as I took it away.

Ok, now I got there the servo in. Some dremling on the chassis do I have to do.
Showing some pictures so you can see how it went.
Going to buy a different servo horns so it becomes a straight line to the servo arm.

Now I have ordered 2x4 cell lipo batteries to see how it goes.
Is very satisfied with the car that holds together well. Wondering how you set the slip clutch? I have applied it fully. Perhaps i should loosen it a little bit?

I have the spur adapter so mine is fully lock at all times,,
But tighten yours fully then 1/8 back.

Now I change the servo horn to Hudy.
Put the screw in the 20mm hole instead of 16mm which was the only possible with Integy.
Now it is much better line.
