    ESC overheating..?

So I had my xmaxx out for a bash at the dunes this weekend, which was fun for its first Sand trip. BUT after about 10-15 mins I would all of a sudden lose throttle power. Power was still on, could steer but nothing to the throttle.
I have dual fans on the castle 2028 motor, engine temps were only 100 degrees, batteries were still nearly full. Max6 esc has a fan, I could feel heat radiating off of it. So Id just let it sit for a few mins to cool. I could turn the truck off, then back on and it would run for another 5-10 and stop again.
    What could be happening here?
Just put in smc 4s 9200mah 90c batteries as well

The reason why its overheating is the max6 is too small for the 2028 motor. A max 5 esc would be better for that motor.

Dang.. so it’s definitely the esc?
Would it have any chance of it overheating with the max5?

    No
Max5 is the correct esc for the fifth scale motor
The max6 is perfect for the stock motors

I'm having the same problem on my stock 8s. It will stop then about 3-4 seconds later it will run again. The servo works but it seems the ESC has a intermittent issue. Does anyone else have this issue?

Best thing to do is contact the manufacturer for support for their product. This forum is for Traxxas support only.
