    New Stuff, Need advice!

So I ordered 7 things this weekend: big bores, 3s lipo, bearings, battery cover, 50 w oil for shocks, 76T spur, and aluminum bell crank steering. Here are my simple questions for you, how do I fill up my shocks with oil and what is the little C rating on lipos, like it says 25C discharge. Also is it fine if I can do speed runs with 2.8's? I have pro-line mashers for my tires. I'm running a sidewinder sv3 and a sidewinder 4600 kv motor.
    Big tires do wheelies!!!

C rating is the burst discharge rate, (C-Rating) x (capacity) = burst.

    5000mha (5amps) x 25 = 125 amps

With 3S, you normally gear down, not up. Before you do anything, recommend getting a temp gun. When you change anything in the drive train (gears, tires, shafts, voltage, rebuilds and repairs) it is a REALLY good idea to take temps every five minutes or so for the first pack, anything > 260*/f is bad.

For shocks, look on YouTube for "rebuilding Traxxas shocks".

I'm not sure, but you just need to check out in your ESC instruction manuel,if your ESC could run a 25c battery, and if they say no, running with it will probably toast the system and void the guarantee.

As far as the 25c, IDK what brand you have but I have 2 25c off brands that work fine in my SV3 4600 but a higher C rating would be better.

C-Ratings aren't normally a restriction for ESCs. The ESC is what pulls the power from the battery, the higher the C, the more the battery can supply (amperage). You can have a 70C pack, and the ESC might only pull 40C max. 25C is a low C rating (20 C is the lowest), for the most part, the higher C rating the better.

    You do want to make sure that ESC can handle 3S. (2S = 7.4vdc, 3 = 11.1vdc)

The SV3 can handle 3S but as always monitor your temps. My 4600 will get warmer with 3S than 2S but still way under the limit.
I do run 2.2 Badlands on my Rustler so there not a heavy tire.....

Thanks for the info, because from now I did not know how things was working exactly.

Maybe its possible to run a 25c battery, but that will certainly restrained the gearing option. or in other words the correct gearing range will be narrower.

Not so... I run every imaginable gear ratio with mine. The burst GS is referring to is the amperage the battery can give at a split second. As far as I know the burst is short not throughout the whole run.

Interesting... So if I understand your reflection with a higher c rating, if the ESC and motor permit, the aceleration could be better, or something?

This site and from other members is where I have learned a lot but to answer your question, yes but as noted the ESC and motor must be able to deliver.

Your welcome! It sure gave me a better understanding when I switched from nitro. I'm no electrical wizard by far but I do manage.
