    Fahrvergkevin's Slash 4x4 Build Thread...

I'm starting a build thread. I sold a bunch of stuff on eBay so I had some 'free money' as I like to call it. So I bought a lightly (or at least I hope it was) used Ultimate edition on the eBay. Then I ordered a bunch of other crap and most of it is in now. I'm planning on stopping it down to dye the chassis and build it back up from there. Adding full telemetry, oba and lights.

    Let the fun begin.

Sweet! that rig looks pretty clean from the pic. I added OBA to my Ultimate too, everyone loves it especially the kids. I think i'll do the lights next. Keep us updated.

    Stage 1: Teardown

I found where the previous owner hid all the sand and dirt. At least they put in the effort to clean up the rig, although they didn't dry it well so there was plenty of rust on the screws. Screws are all being replaced, so all is good. Seems like it was run indoors quite a bit judging by the amount of hair that came out of the axels.

That looks like it is in great condition! I like the blue Raptor body that it came with. It seems to be a newer model. It has the telemetry and Bluetooth transmitter. Looking at the pictures it doesn't have the ID connector on the esc so it probably doesn't have TSM. I don't know what you paid but it looks like a solid truck! Good job!

The Raptor is a new one that I bought. It came looking like this...

I didn't pick up on the lack of TSM, thanks for catching that. I assumed the lack of the ID connector was for the power tap telemetry, but I should have realized that the power sensor wire was already soldered in so the power tap wasn't needed.

Finally picking this project back up...

Had to use two boxes of RIT dye, but it came out great.

That looks great. Can I ask why you left the OBA module in? Are you saving it to use in the future?

    Got the lights from here...

    http://m.ebay.com/itm/252556234215?_mwBanner=1

They work well and seem like good quality. I have them straight in to channels 4 and 5 right now. On my Rusty, I have a 5 channel transmitter so I can turn the lights on and off when I use a relay inline. I think I'll just leave these on all the time.

I added the OBA. The truck was used from the eBay and it came with a stock lid. I will likely put the speakers on that lid and then use the Raptor lid as a shelf lid only and bash with the stock lid.
