awesome video, thanks for the size comparasion. wonder how wide it is vs the power wheels.

I'm building an x-maxx from parts right now.... thinking of making it into a stretch x-maxx to fit the wheelbase of this....

    knock off power wheels lambo

    gutted and marked for cutting

1/5th scale tires tires on it.

thanks for the video, still need a picture to compare the width.

    thanks guys

Fordub, dude, how much time do you have on your hands?

First you went all aluminum on your monster mutt, then a weedwhacker, now a lambo?

Keep doing what you're doing. Looking forward to seeing the end product.

22.26 inches for x-maxx... sounds like an almost perfect fit.

    lil more plotting.

about where the chassis sits on the xmaxx when lined up rear fender

    front and rear

once put together should be looking like that

    6-8 inch extension.

If you've bought most of an Xmaxx from the parts wall, you probably know. I've been wondering if it's cheaper to buy parts as they break or just buy another truck. You should be able to get around $300 for the electronics on ebay. So then you're at $600. Just a set of tires is almost $100. A full set of arms is another $100. Full set of shocks is almost another $100. All stuff I'll probably have to replace. We haven't even gotten to diffs and drive shafts yet.

I think it goes both ways.

But when you think of why so many chop shops exist, they make profit buying the trucks and parting them out. I'm sure if you priced an x-maxx in just parts it would be near 1200$. The wall of x-maxx parts I got for 66% off, as the hobby shop was closing.

I belive the roller is the best bet... unless you only break certain parts. I would just keep those on hand... I know if I had a parts roller, it would have electronics in it sooner or later LoL

Yea, lol. If it sat around mostly intact long enough, I'd probably put electrics into it, too. I'm JUST getting back into the hobby, though, so I don't have any spare stuff laying around. I built a lot of kits when I was a kid, but got turned off when I got to the nitro level. They're fun as , but way to much maintenance. A friend of mine started getting fpv drones and it got me thinking about RC again. Got some mini-quads. Fun as , but realized my heart is in making trucks fly. lol. When I saw the power and run times electrics have now, I was all in. My Losi stadium truck in the 90s was fast as ...but would dump a battery in about four minutes.

A few friends have been seriously talking about getting themselves one since they've seen mine run. Maybe 2 or 3 of us will split a parts truck.

I don't wanna see ya get in trouble!

-on the parts truck, I bought a 8s v2 roller for 475$ off ebay. had everything except the body, motor, esc, radio. came with everything else.

Looks good fordub, are you planning to keep it with the lift? Or are you going to lower the body more?

I am gonna attempt to lower it as much as I can. using heavy duty zipties to drop the stance, kind of like how the x-maxx comes from traxxas, with the suspension compressed. I tested it, leaves about 1/8th of a inch of ground clearance between the chassis and the road. so need to lower the body and raise the stance a bit.

first few passes it might be like that. lol

tool kit found, ripping apart my xmaxx.

separated the front from the chassis. gonna have to swap the chasses, one with the electronics for the front.

back is not cut out yet, once its cut out it will sit much lower!

and that's how long the new x-maxx will be. gonna run bodymount to bodymount shock tower braces.

depending on how crazy I get I might have a driveable prototype by morning...

so I didn't get far enough to get a test run before lunch

but I did get it mocked up. only mod I need to test it in 2wd mode, is to secure the 2 halfs temporary and run a extension cable for the front servo and temp mount the body then I think shes ready to test!

video of driving it. this is a v2 with a kush drive, I really need to bite the bullet and get a set of inner beadlocks and screws for the darn 5t slicks I have you can hear the stock v2 tires rubbing on turning.

    Fantastic Effort!!
Any chance of firming-up the suspension, fitting a covering 'inner tub' and making it an R/C ride-on again? Could be fun!!

Lick of paint would be nice - bright metallic orange or green would be typical.

Great effort - glad you got it going.

thanks atom, will be better once the diff is connected. its losing 70% power feels like.

I will be working on the suspension. putting in dampeners on the a-arms to the body to reduce roll as well.

Unsafe for riders. but I have the bear I could put there if need be. Bear is fearless.

my plans for the roof/hole in the top is gonna be a piece of black fiberglass. or something of that nature that resembles the roof of that vehicle.

still gotta fab a bottom plate for the body, a bracing system tower to tower, and finish the body cutting/mounting.

I will prolly clean it real good and if the matte black dosent come out clean, paint it in matte black again. lol.

I really wish I could of gotten the 7inch hubcaps and some low pro tires to work, but it hink anything weaker than a 5t/maxx tire is just gonna shred/pull off the rim in the first turn @ 45lbs
