Well it's the 1st of April my HS still has no word when the 4-Tech 2.0 is coming in.... Starting to get disappointed I regret paying off in full for my 4-Tech 2.0.... I would of gotten the TRAXXAS Courtney Force Funny Car (@ least that car was IN-STOCK at the HS when I paid for my 4-Tech) just a BUMMER.... Well maybe by JUNE it will show up

Mid May!!?? that's seems like quite a big jump... but this my first time witnessing a "new release" from traxxas. maybe they can just sell some parts to quench my thirst... can i buy a shock tower or something to hold me over for when the whole car comes out. i am super excited about this car....

Several RC companies have had production interruptions because of some labor problems overseas, more than likely the delay in the 4-Tec has something to do with that.

    Speaking of this.
I know we have to get past the hurdle of Traxxas shipping the first batch to the Local Shops and delivering to all the excited customers who have pre ordered. But, the big elephant in the room is "Are any more body variations and versions coming down the pipe?"

The question is made more interesting by the fact that there was only ever one body shell offered (at a time) for previous 4-Tec versions.

Guess that gives us more time to stock up on different wheels n tires. And save up for a brushless/esc combo for it...

Certainly a good way of looking at it. Personally, I am going to run the dog snot out of the stock electronics to see what kind of performance I can get out of them.

I am sad. I have never pre ordered. Gave me time to get a motor in and a body to paint. I don't have the heart to run that nice of a body. I ordered proline Cadillac touring car body 200mm version. I have a mamba max pro and 5700 castle sensored motor to run. Itching. Will be my first road car. I was comparing to associated tc4 and weight is similar. I hope they come out with upgrades from traxxas soon so we can make this things more tunable. Does anyone know if the frame is smooth under the esc to allow for a esc to be taped onto it? Or should I make a plate like I did for the slash 4x4.

    Tower still says early May.

It'd be awesome if they had already started to ship these.

Both of my LHS's in my area got a display car in, including the LHS I work at.

They won't let us drive ours quite yet...

Seems they are "display" models. I'm kinda pumped about these though. I got a 2400kv Funny Car motor just itching for a home. Think it could be made to work in one of these??

so my saved ebay search for the ford GT came back with a few hits today...
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Traxxas-8305...oAAOSwWWxY9PzO

i wonder if people are parting out the "display model" or if some chop-shops are starting to get cars.
...or some sly chop-shop listing parts from other cars as 4-tec, since it looks like part numbers are the same.
i need this car so bad. would they get mad if i just drove up to the headquarters in McKinney and camped out in the parking lot?

Some of the stores are getting pre release models so people can check it out. Had one in my hands today. Love the car and put my name on the stores waiting list.

Or maybe they are listing a radio that come from a different model that is the same as the GT's
and RC pilots say RC cars can't fly!

Yup, there are parts and pieces listed under "Traxxas Ford GT", but those are common parts like TX/RX, ESC/motor, and servos, but nothing that is specific to this RC.

The Traxxas main page says that they are shipping, so there is hope.

    Great video!
Two things concerned me about it though, the first aftermarket company he named was Integy (ewww...), and he said "we run NiMH down to zero"... not if you want them to last, you don't... Yes, I am being picky.

There are a couple more videos out, one where they put a VXL system in it, and it looks fast. I have one sitting on the shelf, can't decide if I am going to put it in, or get a Castle system to put in...

TBH I only watched watched the video without having the sound on lol.

That was not the location I was at when I had my hands on time with it. Saw somebody mention led lights on it. With the body off I did see what looks like provisions for some lights so do not be surprised if they have a light kit coming for it. You can see in some of the components that they are trying to keep cost down which without a doubt you will see quite a bit of upgrade parts in the future. Yeah not sure how long I would keep it brushed myself. Actually debating picking up a castle system now before the car is even out lol. Tell you one thing it is pretty snug between the end of the motor, ESC and the RX box. Talking to the people in the shop they told me the track that is not far from them is debating adding a class for racing for it.

Even though I have a VXL system sitting on the shelf, I have been wanting to see what the stock system will do with drift tires.

I am kinda confused that Mustang GT come with long antenna tube and big hole on top of the body for antenna. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Cd0G5-XmI Take a look on youtube. It is supposed to be short antenna tube and no hole on top of the body. Yikes.

Okay I have had the new 4 tech from launch and have upgraded a few things. Stock out of the box I slapped the brushless system from my slash 4x4...loads of power at that point...car can not keep a straight line to save it's life....today with turnbuckles springs and many mods it can.i have hated to cut away at the bellcrank so the arms wouldn't hit and get stuck under the center shaft....not sure if anyone else had that issue but after a few phone calls to traxxas I am getting the feeling no one has this issue or they don't care to know. That out of the way it is a nice car but I still like my rs4 sport more....still waiting to see what I can do with the 4 tech tho.it powers through the turns thanks to aftermarket parts....i say bring on the hop ups and see where this car can be pushed.

Glad to see the brushless version produced. Even includes the same VXL-3s Brushless system you are buying separate
