    4Tec 2.0 Opinions

It was just released on Traxxas' homepage that the 4Tec 2.0 chassis will be released in March 2017 sporting a Ford GT body. Just curious on people's opinions and whether or not they will be purchasing one.

I personally am a little discouraged with that $300 price tag for I believe just a brushed RTR, hoping the price will fall eventually.

256mm wheelbase which is longer than most on-road car chassis, which means probably specific bodies for this vehicle (although there are a couple 255mm, HPI RS4 being one).

This was a long-overdue vehicle that Traxxas needed to release for sure, so I think they'll sell really well. It also looks like a good chassis.

@Double G thanks for the move!

deleted unnecessary rant, will save for a more apporiate thread, haha.. my point is that 200mm compatibility is important to me. I want to make a cool scale drifter and it would be rad if i could have a traxxas as it's base, gotta be 200mm though.

If you look through all the details it states adjustable body mounts to fit 200mm

    I personally like it.

I like the brushed one, but I was hoping for a brushless one, probably gonna wait till I have a system thats being unused, then just switch em out. The shell looks awesome though.

If we're lucky it'll have the same as the slash 4x4 setup, looks like the diffs are the same as the slash 4x4 as well.

lol Phil has me beat by a long shot, but this model does look like it could be made to put out some good numbers.

i was wondering the same about the motor mount when i read that it has some sort of "fixed non-adjustable mesh" and you had to check a chart to get the motor installed with proper mesh. it seems like it might be tough to get 32p gears in it. but i can't wait to get one of these!! i hope they don't sell out quick so i can get one soon...

I've never had an on-road only traxxas vehicle, but this one does interest me.

Is anyone more familiar with the ROAR legalities with this chassis? I'd like to know if this can compete in the standard classes.

Loving the Body and really like the chassis but at $300 i'm not a buyer. At that price I think there will be a rush of people that just "have to have it" right away then the interest will go away and the cost will come down.

I'd jump on it in the $225 range but anything more than that I'm just going to wait and pick up a used one off ebay a month after they're released.

It would been nice if it was 250.00 but I love that I can go to any hobby shop and buy parts and call traxxas and actually talk to someone and have great support

I think I'll wait until the scaler gets released (depending on the price) and buy one of those and then I'll get a 4-tec off of ebay.
