Tekin powered Summit
Looks impressive. We will have to see if it actually gets released and how parts support will be. 21T motor, looks like lockable diffs, 2 speed tranny too.
I'm quite shocked they also included portal axles in the prototype. The scaler scene is pretty big and lots of people (like myself) spend a ton of money on our rigs. It's a HUGE market that Axial, RC4WD, and a little bit of Vaterra mostly dominated.
Edit: RR-17 license plate... possible model number for this chassis?![]()

ha what! Didn't see that coming, This is going to be a big year for traxxas. I wouldn't have thought that they would have done a land rover style?
I love it, its awesome. Really hope that traxxas has plans to release a scale truck. No teasing us traxxas please. Problem is I've maxed out my rc truck buget buying a summit and another rc in the past while. I've been thinking about looking into a scale truck for my next rc possibility. So this would be great, I love my traxxas stuff.
Can anyone translate?
Tekin powered Summit
I'll wait for the official release from Traxxas before I believe it. IF it is indeed true, they seem to be turning RC towards scale looks on multiple chassis: 2017 Raptor, Bigfoot, Fiesta ST Rally (though they had the 1/16 Ken Block years ago), GT and possibly this.
The Super Derecho
I want this so bad. I enjoy my other brand scaler, so this will replace that! Hopefully we won't have to wait long!![]()

ARE YOU BLEEPING KIDDING ME?!?!?
NO WAY!!!!
WAY?
NO WAY!!!!
OK, this has gotten TOTALLY out of hand, I already have to buy the new 4-Tec, and not this... Looks like someone is going to be working a lot more overtime!!!!

I own 44 rc's and this got my blood flowing. Please Traxxas release this!
this is amazing. i hope we won't have to wait too long. i'll definitely be ditching the land rover body and putting my chevy clod body on it. if all the existing scale hop-ups fit this thing it will take off like a rocket. axial better watch out.
p.s. some of the body scale pieces like the cage and fender flares look 3D printed for the prototype, sweet.
p.s.s. i like how the video clearly shows the "no photography" sign. lol

traxxas is not that scale I think they focus more on how it runs. and I don't see traxxas putting I big light bar on one of there trucks.
SLAM!

U can see the new 4-tec in the lineup in the video.
T-Maxx 2.5R /Stampede brushed/ Slash VXL brushless
Skeptical about this, but I can hope that it's not a toy build, but real scale,
Leds like rigid would be great, I don't think it can be that level.

The 21 emaxx motor should have more topend than other scalers while still having the torque needed
Big 2 thumbs up! That's the Traxxas I want to see! Big brains crushing the market!

He Who Dies With the Most Toys Wins.
I believe its true, you can see its inside of a traxxad location and traxxas models next to it. how did the video surface?
Now that we have solid axles, PLEASE build a monster truck.

I think the portal axles will be the big selling point because they give it more ground clearance, that and I don't think anyone else does it. Now someone should come out with a 1962 Mercedes Benz Unimog body since they have portal axles and will go over anything you put in front of them!

Have a nice day! :)
Man I love the portal axles but if they make as well just straight live axle that would be an awesome start for solid rear slash 4x4's without spending the $400 for the mod lol.
Great job Traxxas ! Took a little bit of time doing it, but DANG ! You did it right lol.

If it's worth sharing, I talked to a gentlman at Traxxas and he confired that's it's real, and everyone is super excited for it come out; which he said is expected to be sometime in spring before summer.
Can't wait to get my hands on one!![]()

Couple more pics, basically stills of whats seen in the video that was posted, but gives a idea of size next to the Ford Raptor Slash.

My previous sig conflicted with a forum policy.
Finally a Traxxas vehicle that I really wants!
Body is a downer for me, but the portal axle's, front offset diff and the front mounting motor is big selling point for me.
Put on a more realistic body, scale interior and stuff a V8 under the hood, and we got the perfect vehicle, for me anyway....
Love my other scale 4x4 rigs from the other brands, about time Traxxas enter this segment, late, but better late than never![]()

What's the wheelbase? I am not really looking to but a crawler, but if that Defender body fits on my Slash that would be pretty sweet, at least for the first couple jumps.
Any guesses on the price range? My guess is $380-440 price range:

My birthday is coming up next month, hey wife thats a hint for you. I'm ok with getting a late bday present, lol. If not I just might have to resort to putting it on a credit card.
whoa, you think that much?! I'm not seeing enough hardware for a $400 price tag. maybe if it had a sensored brushless system in it...

It's got a licensed body, full lighting kit, and it is an entirely new platform that needed to be engineered from square one. Everything on this is new and the 4 servos are indicative that there will be a lot of moving parts. The R&D bill for this vehicle must have been huge.
