Name the New Traxxas Scale Truck

So, the Interweb and the Traxxas forums have all been in a flutter since the pictures of the Traxxas scaler prototype came out. We have seen some good pictures of it, but have yet to hear of what Traxxas will be calling it (if they go into production on it). Here are my thoughts on a couple of names for it:

"Traxxas Rover" - Named after its body.

"Traxxas Butte" - In contrast to the Summit, but I can see a lot of 'Butte' jokes coming from this one.

"Traxxas Trail Master" - If it has to have a name, give it one that suggests what you want it to be.

"Traxxas Wrangler" - Keeping with the 'Rustler'/'Stampede' theme, but a lot of people will likely think 'Jeep', which isn't bad for an RC truck.

"Traxxas Slice" - Going with the "Slash" theme...

"Traxxas T-Maxx (T- for 'Trail')" - Yup, they already have this one, way to go for not thinking ahead Traxxas.

"Traxxas Stomper" - Brings to mind those little AA-powered trucks from the 80's.

"Traxxas Splurge" - If the criticisms are correct, this is what you'll have to do to buy one, although I think it will be priced in line with the other trucks out there.

"Traxxas Trail Dominator" - Eh... Sound like an RC that Arnold would have...

"Traxxas Locker" - Named for the diffs everyone thinks it will have.

What name(s) would you give this truck?

I think is will be a land rover licence deal like the ford rcs. "Traxxas Land Rover Defender" like "Traxxas Ford Raptor"

I hope they make other bodies like a ford superduty or a bronko.

What about RR-17? RR would stand for Range Rover...

Besides, RR-17 is what's on it's number plate.

I am with IanRose on this one. That has to be a licensed body, so I am sure they will call it the "Traxxas Land Rover Defender"

Not sure why the "RR" on the plate though, this is a Defender, not a Range Rover, although I wouldn't mind seeing some Range Rover RC bodies, especially older Range Rover Classic style.

How about traxxas just spill the beans on the new name. I do like the name butte or avalanche as mentioned above. How about traxxas Kodiak.

Bigsquid is reporting the name as: Land Rover D110 Scale Crawler but we'll wait and see until the official release.

I'm still guessing the RR-17 as the chassis itself and they'll probably reuse the platform and put different bodies on it.

BAH!!! Boring. Beside, I am not a fan of naming an RC after the body type, bodies are easily and frequently changed.

With that, I have thought of a few more names...

"Traxxas Sierra" - Named after the Sierra/Nevada mountain range.

"Traxxas Donner" - Because it eats its competition

"Traxxas Time" - Because we have been waiting a long time for Traxxas to come out with a solid axle rig....

Traxxas has a strict language policy. A word filter operates to change inappropriate words to *s. When you see these in your post, you MUST edit them out.

+1. would suck to say "here's my land rover" and it have like a ford truck body on it lol. i really wish they'd keep it generic.

Agreed.

Most likely, if the good folks at Traxxas are planning on putting this into production, they already have a name picked out for it. The purpose of this thread is more tongue in cheek, to see what crazy names that fit this truck people can come up with. And who knows, Traxxas may only have a project name for it, and not a production name, and see one that one of us comes up with and like it.

As far as taking the names of 1:1s already in production, it would only be a problem if Traxxas used a body the looked like that vehicle.

With that said, here are a couple more...

"Traxxas Avalanche" - Because it rolls down rocks a lot (likely not a good selling point)

"Traxxas Lego" - Sounds cool to me, but not sure of the relevance... Perhaps their next RC?

"Traxxas Goat (or Mountain Goat)" - Have you ever seen a mountain goat on rocks?

"Traxxas Summit Lite" - Actually hate this one, don't use it.

"Traxxas Avenger" - The body would have to be Iron Man red and gold.

In the vein of already used names:
Traxxas Scout;
Traxxas Ranger (or Scale Truck Ranger = STRanger for short);
Traxxas Latitude or even better L'attitude (a lengthened version would be Long'itude)...

Already have that name (Canyon) for Traxxas tires so that may be confusing. Flip side is that I guess nobody else is using it.
One of my favorites is Arête. Hopefully this as-yet-unconfirmed product will be on the cutting edge.

How about TC-01 for "Traxxas Crawler number 1" Would be cool. Axial has them named close to that. TC-01 is what I would name it.
