Looking for a light bar for my TRX-4 Sport Kit

Hey all, I just picked up a TRX-4 Sport Kit that comes with all of the 1/10 accessories

I'm looking to buy a light bar to install on the roof or near the windshield, but am unsure of how to do it with the roof rack being right there

I am also unsure of what light bar to buy. Has anyone done this?

I have 3-channel Futaba receiver, would it just plug right into my 3rd channel?

I'd just get the Traxxas light bar, if I remember correctly it even mounts to the rack.
Also they have a light bar that goes in the front bumper that is pretty sweet.

They both do look good. How would I be able to connect them both to the receiver if the servo takes up one channel, the ESC takes up another channel, and I only have 1 channel left?

Does the kit you have not already have the light kit? The Traxxas lights use a small voltage regulator to run the light kit.

No, it did not come with any light kit. This is what I bought:

Yeah, the headlights and taillights in that kit already run on the power converter. It looks like the attached picture.

Ok, so if I buy the roof light bar and the bumper light bar, they should both plug into that power converter, and then the power converter plugs into my 3rd channel on the receiver?

Yeah, the light bars plug into the power block. Then the "servo" wire plugs into the receiver and the red JST plug needs 6-12v power.

Doesn't the JST cord plug into the ESC for power?

Yeah, if you're using the stock TRX ESC it has one to plug into.

No it does not have a JST stock. One can be added easily however.

The 1080 will come with a XT60 stock. If you're keeping that end, you can slide back the "cover" on the end of the battery connector. Then slide a JST plug pigtail through and solder it on.
If you're changing the end anyway, you can still add a JST pigtail when soldering the end on.

Here is the install on a Defender - should be very similar with the Sport.... just ignore the part where I install the lights on the body!

What light bar went on the roof? The only Traxxas ones I'm seeing online are curved.
