    Fourdub's X-Maxx 8s

finally ordered one right now. I'm pretty excited! I recently sold some legos and some trucks on ebay.

My friend is supposed to buy an x-maxx, for my lambo project coming up.

I may end up using this one... but I will use it for a bit first.

    excited....

lambo knock off powerwheels, 5th scale monster truck tires (mocked up for fun, using mini / pocket street bike tires.

yeah, darn towerhobbies and their easy pay. Pay half up front and they mail you the truck, other payment comes in 30 days... Just verified my info with them (first time customer) truck will be here on Monday!

bad for my wallet, good for my heart.

I don't even have any batteries for this yet...

I've almost got easy-pay reeled in a few times haha! No apr, no credit check, it's even more tempting on the 3-pay offers.

So before hobby people went out, I bought all their x-maxx parts. was gonna build one from the ground up (still can kinda)

also seen a set of spiral cut gears for x-maxx and grabbed those too.

Part #7777X (Front) Ring Gear, Differential/ Pinion Gear, Differential (Machined, spiral cut)

So I bought the spiral cut gears, is it a upgrade to put them in the 8s x-maxx?

like is it worth me going out and buying the rears.

    Thanks!

got rid of the x-maxx stickers on the truck and went with a 360fly theme, since 360fly gave me a bunch of stickers.. also a few more pics next to the lambo

sweet. looks nice in the 360fly getup. and good thing I never got around to taking a picture of my x next to my son's power wheels, his is a hummer and it's WAY bigger than that lambo so it would have thrown you off.

also, please tell me you're gonna drive it a bit before you get all mad scientist on it

my idea for the mini bike tires is to cut off the axle part, weld on some traxxas 17mm splined hex adapters and grind down the other side until you can fit a nut on. lol.

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I'm excited to drive it for the first time. rizzod take the pic darnit!!! lol. Maybe I need one of those too LOL. (off road version)

On the lambo I'm tyrying to make it so that its modular... so I'm going to 3d print front and rear parts of the chassis. so the front and rear bulkheads can be installed to the stretched chassis MAX5? powered and removed with ease. (getting longer center driveshaft)

so when not using the lambo just unbolt and bolt back to the vxl-8s main chassis, and go...

Hopefully.... lol but yes I'm going to drive it first. its pouring buckets outside right now

    @ nitrocrazy

so that front and rear end with these tires...

    and these hubcaps LoL!

    This is quite a project.
Great initiative and imagination - keep it coming.

Is this actually going to be a R/C 'ride-on' or are rides banned - could be way too fast for safety, but .... keep it coming.

    Its going to be banned.

I'm gonna custom make a hardtop for the back, or a roof for the car, so you cant see inside.

If I wanna get crazy I can strap my bear inside and pretend hes driving it lol.

well today was our first sunny day in like a month. warmest day we've had too.

here ya go man. the hummer is actually made by little tikes. not sure who makes the cars quad though. and thanks for making me drag my old pocketbike out lol.

you said weld something to the pocketbike wheels, I think they are aluminum. i'll check them later.

    You are the man rizzod!!

    thank you for these pictures.

I know nothing of welding lol.

But I think those tires might be too big for my project. I think 6.5-7.5inch tires will fit in the wheel well perfect. in the above pictures of the lambo, it has 8inch tall tires that are I think 5 inches wide, no room for ballooning or turning really lol. so I would need one just under that size. altho I think I could grind these wheel wells down a little bit to make them bigger.

I have been seeing rollers again on sale. so I am eyeballing those, rather than give up this one. lol

I met a forum member today CRAZYXMAXX cool guy, let me borrow a set of 3s batteries to try the truck with.

We had a decent time. I got the truck dirty, rolled it a few times, jumped it a few times. had fun. Hes got a really cool xmaxx.

he didn't let me use my new body as an excuse not to give it a good run, and lent me his body LOL!

Was a good time, will post up a video of it later on.

Anyone know if the spiral cut diff gears and pinon are still an upgrade?

another 6s run on the x-maxx. I mounted my gojoe action cam to the bumper for the day. Video of that to come later.

hooked up with CrazyXMAXX again, and showed him a new spot to bash. We didn't get very far into the spot and found a nice bowl shapped area to bash in. was a good time.

went on a 30 or so minute hike with the x-maxx to scout out some old play areas, and the rains we have got in socal has made 99% of it unusable due to how much greenery has sprouted.

Once this stuff drys out, it will be good again. might have to mount my weedwacker to the x-maxx an make it a Bush-Maxx Patherfinder <3 <3

.... so after the session, I find clean pavement, and full throttle back and forth till the tires are clean, than I sprayed it down with a hose like I do all my traxxas vehicles... than drive it up and down the block at full speed to dry it off. Before I reconnect the batteries, I dry each plug, by blowing into them... make sure the plugs are dry when reconnecting the batteries.

This truck is a lot of fun.

heres video of how I rinse it after each run it gets dirty, however due to some people saying premature esc burn out is due to water frying the esc, please don't copy me unless you understand the risk. I have a lot of faith in my traxxas vehicles...

Met up with crazyxmaxx again and we bashed some more behind the park. We actually brought shovels and gear to start making a track. will take a while to complete it, with a few hours of work here and there.

met other random rc's at the park and told em to go back there for a adding to the track.

We having a good time out there. Today we had two x-maxxs, a rc10 xxb buggy, and my slash 4x4 to 2wd conversion.

I really like the view in video games of the camera hovering above and behind the car its filming.

popular games like gran turismo, need for speed, and grand theft auto all have this type of camera angle.

While I know it wont last but one or two flips...

    here is my camera-maxx

gonna give it a test run with the gojoe where the 360fly camera is sitting on ont he plexiglass plate. The anti flex supports are just cut up plastic coat hangers. plexiglass plate goes all the way down to the wheelie bar. my gojoe bracket has holes in the top and bottom so can mount right side up or upside down.

survived its first tumble... lol... not sure why but I was going up some stairs and rolled to the side and over, flipped the camera down but didn't hurt the Plexiglas. hehe

so yeah.... x-maxxes can climb stairs... I got to the top step before I messed up and started my roll down... maxx is so big I only rolled half way over and was at the bottom of the stairs hahahaha.

chase cam was cool. I need to lower it and point it up a little bit.

video of those to be uploaded once the roommate is done with the internet lol

hehe, well my madmax 1/5th scale adapters came in the mail.

just testing them out, on these exceed rampage wheels. they fit nicely.

I need to modify the front wheel splines to accept the squareish traxxas front lower and upper arms + steering knuckle clearance. but the rears bolt right up no mods.
