Looking forward to seeing that Raptor body painted up. Whats the plan for the roller? Ferrari Powerwheels? Or just a basher?

the powerwheels. but I kinda went a little crazy, i bought another blue RTR x-maxx and 2 completer packs.....

so i just sold the roller to my friend. I'm going to have two x-maxxes, i don't really need the 3rd right now, it might of been a premature purchase! so it helps to pay off the x-maxx lol.

Working on getting a jst style 7.4v battery for my fpv setup so i can stick it on the x-maxx. right now I'm powering it off a vxl in a stampede 4x4. i really don't wanna install a vxl esc on my x-maxx just to run the TX hehehehe.

I'll prolly end up buying another roller or a used 6s x-maxx for the powerwheels lambo in the near future. still waiting on my other friend to get his x-maxx... hehe

holes the tailgate protector fits in. big suckers.

this is the tailgate protector, it sits inside itself, and locks the Lexan together.

Me and CrazyXmaxx went out to the park again, different spot, made ourselves a circle track that goes up a hill.

We setup the maxx's caravan style to get there. I gotta say the Hostle Racing - MXT's on crazy's x-maxx help out the towing a lot. I was have a hard time in the loose gravel. tires just spinning.

Went out and bashed the new raptor body. few tumbles and rolls, no noticeable cracks or anything in the body.

I was using v2 stock x-maxx blue truck on 6s, and crazyxmaxx was using v2 x-maxx red accessories and black lid with max6 on 6s and v1 x-maxx motor, on the Hostile MXT wheels on baja 5T rims geared 22/50 or something. His truck is way more aggressive than mine lol.

we had a good time, and the people didnt mind the dirt, altho crazy did try to join their basketball game a few times and went over the wall. And we wernt running continuious we did it in spurts so it didn't make too much clouds.

    Damage Report:
    v1 a-arm on v2 chassis - upper rear passengerside
v2 Body / Battery Protector - took a direct hit on the cinder block wall. Lipo and rest of truck is in perfect order.

Video to come later on, after editing!

some comparasion shots. I am waiting on my dads xmaxx to arrive so I can put the body supports on it. Since his truck is going to blue everything as well, and he wanted red on the body, I bought 4 shocks and red wheelnuts. I'm not switching out the axles for red ones. but the shocks will be extras for me, or for a roller, if I put it together. I bought 2 chassis. and I have random box of parts still...

bought a 2nd gojoe gopro knockoff and a accessorie kit. in the kit came a head mount / strap, so I took a walk thru the park with it to test it.

as long as the truck is not at my feet I can see it and follow it good.

Nice stash Fourdub. I feel like every other time I take out my X-Maxx it goes does until new parts arrive so I will be following your lead and stocking up so that I no longer have the down time. Worst part for me is I have a breakage on a semi nice day and then while the truck is down I get beautiful weather. What do you think would be the best parts to purchase for a $200 budget. I know this varies on driving style and terrain but you seem to have a good idea of what breaks often and I run in similar environments.

    Hey there JLwoods65!

I'm sorry to say I've only been an x-maxx owner for about a month. I bought all those parts before I bought an x-maxx as I was gonna try building one from the ground up. Now I can tell you what parts I have seen other people brake.

Ring and Pinion gears in the front and rear diffs.

A-arms lower and upper - I would keep 1 left and 1 right set (lower and upper) the front and back are the same, so keep 1 set on hand.

    and bearings

those are the only things I have seen fail on other people's x-maxxs.

Sorry I wasn't more helpful, but I'm still learning too!

(edit: I haven't broke anything yet)

I have a V2 and have already had to replace a rear inner hub bearing, the servo gears (only the usual one actually broke). Just replaced my left steering block after drifting into a curb at about 15 mph. I would say your recommendations are spot on for spare parts. I would buy servo gears and not the whole servo (changing the gears was easy), just keep lithium grease on hand as well.

Nice battery & charger setup I did the same thing and just bought 2 in the hopes of less down time.

so more messing around with the maxx.

shes got the Ferrari Enzo toy grade hard body on it now. I will be posting a video of a short review on the pro-line raptor body, as it is starting to show damages now.

Will try to use this body for the next few days... it is ziptied... I don't care lol

new camera, so don't mind the timestamps

I like how the rear bumper kinda insets in the body...

-me and my buddy went out and did more work on the track, got another friend who is letting me use his backyard, so I'm going to check to see if its acceptable. I asked for 40-60' by 100' areas... lol

tried a new spot, I asked on facebook for anyone with land to let me know, I would trade landscaping services for the area.

had a taker, did the landscaping, his neighbor lady flipped out. so try to find a new spot.... or develop some older spots.

didn't stop me from running a littlebit and recording. the dust you see was the reason the lady was upset.

I asked her yesterday if it was ok, she said yes, than today she said "i thought you guys were joking"

    shesh... some people

@ rizz0d - yeah i should of done that for sure. But I'm sure she would of found something else to complain about at that point, so we gave up and moved on.

The music is performed by traxxas forum user crazyxmaxx and his buddy # 83. I like the jam sessions!

    ------------

hey guys, its been almost a full month of owning the v2 x-maxx.

I think on Monday or Sunday night, I'm going to do a full tear down, and check out the truck.

I noticed i got a racket coming out of the driveline, sounds like either a damaged axle hub or diff gears. I listened to both first hand. Its a metal on metal chatter with a squeak lol.

So I haven't had a chance to tear the maxx down yet. I was gonna put in some 500k diff fluid while I had them apart. I am gonna say I will hope to have this done by this weekend.

I am dealing with a battery issue right now. one of my brand new (3 runs) 4s 6700mah lipo one of the cells dropped to 3.2, errored out the charger, and when reset, let me charge it, but the one cell is still bad.

On my good 6700mah lipo, the charger said I put 7000mah into it. on the other charger it said I put 2300mah into the bad lpo and it was fully charged.

so I'm messing with the battery stuff, hopefully I didn't ruin my new set of traxxas lipos...

so heres short video form Saturday!

Hey FD, do you have a voltage checker? Curious if you confirmed the battery voltage or just going by charger.

That's a great question/suggestion. It'll tell you pretty quickly if the charger or the battery is the problem.

Unfortunately I do have a voltage / cell checking, however, it needs exposed balance plugs to check the voltage.

These traxxas 6700's have the balance plug built into the plug itself.

    Fourdub's X-Maxx 8s

Your multimeter doesn't have probes long enough to reach the contacts?
Oh...the Low Voltage Alarm is all you have available to check?

Generally speaking a battery that has a low cell like yours would not recover. Unplugging the battery from the charger like you did in the 4th charge video leads me to believe the charger may be the issue. With all of the fancy firmware there could be a glitch. I have a stock vxl8s that detected a dropped cell on one of my 3s batteries and put it into limp mode and lit the voltage alarm. I would think yours would have alerted for sure if voltage was a problem. I have a bunch of the cheap voltage checkers and keep one in the pocket and stop and check voltage periodically while running. They are not always 100% accurate but darn close. They help out quite a bit to keep an eye on your batteries.
