    Slash 4x4 battery...

So I am looking at buying a SMC lipo....

    How is this one?
    http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...product_id=247

    Would a pack with a larger c rating be better/worth my $$?

    Thanks!

that battery will be good for your slash, and it's a good price. SMC are very known in lipoland, and you shouldnt have a problem with it!

+10c, +200mah. Would this one be worth it? (Over the one above)

Dang! Is 90c 7200mah overkill on the stock ESC?

If you're not new to rc, I would definitely suggest 3s. I'm about to pull the trigger on the 90c as well

I have the 2s and 3s 7200 90c SMC batteries and they are awesome. The 40 or 50c work well for lots of people, i bought the higher c one because it was only a small jump in price.

I have only run Lectron Pro lipo's. I use a 2s 7600mah 75c and a 3s 5200mah 50c. They both seem to run great but I have nothing to compare it to. Has anyone else used these? How do they stand against others?

I think I'm going to order some SMC's next time. They seem to cost less.

What do I need to do to run 3s safely? (Gearing) <what is a good 3s gearing? Do I need a fan or motor heat sink etc?

Your gearing will depend on what speed you want, how long you want to run, and what temperatures your getting. Alot of that will depend on your motor and esc combo. If your running stock you will definitely benefit from a fan/heatsink on both motor and esc for running 3s unless you are driving pretty conservatively. You really will just need to try it out with the battery and check temps frequently to get a sense of how your rig responds.

if you think you will want to upgrade to 3s fairly quickly consider getting it right away but turning the esc down so you don't have full power. Then you can learn to drive or upgrade the drivetrain or whatever it is you are wanting to do before getting a 3s.

    saves you buying two batteries
