    MartyB's X-Maxx Adventure

Thought I might start my own thread so I can post my videos and potentially useful information in one spot! The location in this video is about 1km from the closest spot you can park a car. It's a bit of a walk, but good fun when you get there.

Okay, time to add another video. This is from a while ago, but I have nothing new to add as I'm waiting for parts (GPM gears and Hot Racing metal servo gears) so I can do more...

Great video. Love the use of brakes in the air to land.

    Hi All

I took my X-Maxx back to Burns Beach Dunes (near Perth, Western Australia) for another session. Had a great time, but steering went again half-way through the second pack (the new Traxxas metal servo might be a useful upgrade!). In other news, we are FINALLY getting the 8S Power-Up Kit in Australia. Hopefully my LHS will have one for me in about a week - yay!

I miss Australia! Probably the best place in the world for R/C. I never made it out west though.

Yep, plenty of open space and great weather here in Perth . The downside is that it has taken 3 months to finally get the Power-Up kit in Australia. However I've just installed the 'Cush Drive' upgrade and I love it! My V1 X-Maxx runs smoother and quieter, and definitely improves the level of control - I think Traxxas has done a great job with this one! Here's a quick video of my first session with the upgrade.

Got home to find that my 7-month old Labradoodle had somehow managed to get hold of one of my batteries. The dog is fine, but I think the battery is ready for a salt bath

Just installed the new metal servo and it works great! Steering response is noticeably better. Unfortunately one of the plastic tie rod ends broke. I've previously bent some Traxxas tie rods and broken some of the GPM ones as well (I have the GPM steering assembly). I've been struggling to find the right sized tie rod with aluminium ends and the correct sized ball ends - anyone found one?

    .

I noticed one of mine is starting to bend still on factory ones. I have a back up plastic set waiting,

Here is the adjustable ones I found,

Sorry, that's not the part I was talking about. This is the one that bends:
    https://traxxas.com/products/parts/7747

And this is the GPM one that the ends break:
    https://www.gpmparts.com/traxxas-18-...-90073156.html

The new Traxxas part that comes with the metal steering servo is like the GPM one, but I've just broken that as well.

Another video for you. After a session in the rain last weekend, at least one of my foam inserts has turned into a solid blob resulting in some extreme tyre wobble! In this session I broke my first ever suspension arm pin.

    Hi All

Here's my latest attempt at a video. I've gotta say that, even though I've broken a lot of stuff on my X-Maxx, it is still a very tough truck! The only damage from this session was a couple of bolts came out of the front bumper. If you think the tires look a bit weird, it's because about half of the inside bead on one of them has come unglued (8s wheels have been ordered!). Enjoy the video.
